Food is excellent. We ate inside for lunch. Interior is nicely appointed, but visitors should know this is a large restaurant - not an intimate setting. They do not take reservations but tables moved quickly. Staff was friendly.

Does not take reservations and had a long line on a Sunday night. They were very efficient and we were seated in less than an hour. There are tables inside and outside as well as seats at the bar. The service was great. We had...sangria which was great (if you have to wait outside, they will bring a stand for your bottle of wine or pitcher of sangria!). We shared many tapas dishes including prawns in a fabulous garlic and pepper sauce, potatoes brava, baguette with bacon, cheese and dates, an assortment of open sandwiches, and tomato bread with greek salad. Everything was amazing. Then on to dessert…strawberries in orange juice, catalan cream, carrot cake, churros with chocolate sauce. One thing was better than another. So so good. Can’t recommend this place enough!More

Our son said Cerveceria was a must and he was right! All the food, wine and service was a good way to start our our stay in Barcelona! We did eat earlier than most so were able to avoid the crowds.

Great tapas and service. Our first tapas on this Spanish trip. Busy place with a large menu of traditional tapas, plus a daily tapas specials menus. Good service and decent prices.

Great place! Had to be written on list and wait 30 mins, and worth every second. Really good food, and not very expensive at all.

Came across Catalana on Wednesday last week for lunch The sandwich I asked for was not on the menu! No problem our waiter saw to my request & I had the best jamon & queso baguette ever. Revisited twice more for evening tapas & each...time the food was exceptional along with the staff who were busy but always attentive to everyone’s needs. A superb place, exceptional food, excellent attentive staff and very reasonably priced. If you’re ever in Barcelona make sure to look this place up.More

We visited on our first night (after visiting over 10 years ago) and I was pleased to discover that the food was just as good as I remember! Definitely the best tapas in Barcelona, we decided to visit a second night on our holiday as...we loved it that much. We arrived at around 6:30/7pm to avoid the queues and it was definitely worth it.More

Despite the thing that this place appears to be a tourist trap - IT'S NOT! There is a long waiting time to get inside but it's totally worth it. We've been visiting the place 2 times and we don't regret getting on the list for...waiting around 1h. They have the best gambas al ajillo, no doubt! It's not the cheapest place but the food is really great and service very fast.More

Terrible service. Patio closes at 12 although website states 1am. We walked across the city for it. Waiters never explained why , I believe it’s due to a government regulation. Regardless, one waiter felt it was best to approach it with very aggressive behavior telling...us to go inside , rather than explaining the reason . He would later argue with other customers. Almost getting into a fight . Food was ok, but wait staff ruined the experience. The almost caused a much larger issue .More

Visiting 8 years later and still flavourful experience. It is A MUST in Barcelona! Ask for the daily specials. There is a waiting line (worth waiting) in peak hours, so you'd better plan ahead.

Reservations not accepted so the most important thing to know is you must arrive early (before 7pm) to avoid waiting for a table. We arrived at 6pm on a Friday and we were seated upon arrival. The food is excellent, reasonably priced, and service is...excellent which is why this place is so popular. Sangria was a bit lacking because it was too sweet. The wok fried vegetables with shrimp was very good. The eggplant chips were also surprisingly crispy, hot and delicious. Food is served hot within just a few minutes of being ordered which is really nice. You'll feel like a valued customer after leaving this highly popular restaurant. Servers all speak English very well. This is a must stop restaurant in Barcelona but arrive early.More

The food was really good and had a variety of local Catalan dishes. Be prepared to wait, we went on a Monday night at 9 when there was already an hour wait list. Enough time to get a drink and come back to enjoy the...food! Service was OKMore

We won’t come back again. We were recommended by a local friend to visit this restaurant. The dishes were very good, you could choose variety Spanish “tapas” during all day. Here comes a “but”, it’s just so popular and famous that they don’t allow you...to reserve a table and you have to wait your turn in line. You don’t know when you will be atended, maybe in 5 mins, or maybe in 30 mins, or maybe in 1 hour. There are many high level restaurants near by that are you could make a reservation to ensure your table at the hour you want.More

You can’t! It’s by arrival. It’s about an hour waiting line but you can always leave an comeback later. It’s really well located so there’s much you can do or see while waiting!

I went late night in November, I couldn't enter due to the queue and had to visit again next day early evening. I think that's the best time but I have no idea about the situation during these Omicron days.
