Love Txapela, the food and service was excellent. They had an English menu suited to my needs. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. Outdoor seating and table was available and when I went, it was rather busy, which was probably because it should be highly recommended. Went there again the next day :)

Great, fresh, fun. Sat at bar to relax. Had a beer and wine and enjoyed trying to figure out what we would order. If you love fish you will enjoy.

Had lunch here. Over 50 choices of warm and cold tapas. They were all very good! Friendly staff and correct prices. Would visit again.

So we were looking around looking for a decent tapas menu with plenty of vegetarian choices. We found this one. We ordered and I made it very clear to the waiter that my husband is vegetarian- no meat and no fish. Mushroom cannelloni? Is this vegetarian? Yes excellent. My husband takes a bite, no full of chicken. Next comes the... More

A place so close to plaza Catalonia needs to be touristic I assume. The pictures of the tapas makes it fun for the children to order. As for taste, wasnt very but not horrible. Prices are fare. If you look at this as a high end fast food it worth the while

Went there for a quick breakfast as our flight was early on Sunday morning. Got 4 croissants, coffees and orange juices for €26, service was very quick and staff friendly

Ordered about 4-5 portions depending upon what we were getting. Kids menu was great and some tasty dishes were served hot and cold. Baby eels were gorgeous and the pork kebab tasty. Only reason it wasn't a 5 was because there were about 3 dishes unavailable when we ordered them. Service excellent.

My mother and I were brought to this place by a friend who lives in Barcelona, so basically we were not looking for this place, now we were even sure what to expect. Our experience was very good. It is located right at the heart of Gracia and their menu is fun to say the least. They have lots of... More

Attracted by the large outdoor seating area we stopped in to have a bit of lunch. We ordered ice cold glasses of Cava and beer to have with our meal. The extensive tapas menu is a picture placemat and an English menu of descriptions is available. We were pleasantly surprised by everything that was brought to our table. The servers... More

A piece of the Basque Country in the middle of Barcelona downtown.

Txapela is an authentic "euskal taberna" where our bars are full of PINTXOS, elaborated with the best ingredients with Protected Designation of Origin. And what a better pairing than a good glass of Txakoli, a Txikito of Basque Cider, while enjoying a sunbath in our terrace!

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
