This place is well worth seeking out, especially if you are even a slight chocaholic. The shop at the front has a huge assortment of hand-crafted chocolates with many unusual flavours (curry, gin & tonic and wasabi anyone??!!). At the back of the shop is a small cafe where you can sample some of the wares. The hot chocolate is... More

Our friend, Ot Pi, took us there the first night we had arrived in Barcelona. We sat down to drink a cup of chocolate that was so thick and rich that you had to sip it out of a spoon. I was instantly in love. There is a chocolate shop attached and I wanted to peruse the goodies there but... More

I first purchased chocolates at Cacao Sampaka when the shop. cafe opened about twenty years ago (I think) and it still retains its original appeal. The chocolates selections are adventurous (chills, peppers, spices, fruits, herbs et al) and are available in different box sets. The café is an ideal place to meet with friends away from the hustle and bustle of... Top notch chocolate quality…smooth, deep and rich Azteca chocolate drink. Also had to buy my stock of chocolate coated orate sticks and raspberries--intense fruit flavor and not too sweet.

Chocolate lovers must visit this place! Hot chocolate and pastries and desserts! I love the minimalist decor inside. Their chocolates are smooth and soft. Bought a bunch to take back home as gifts for friends and family.

i visited 28th Dec after Christmas holiday here. impression was very good for chocolate lover. instead of excessively decorating / designing chocolates like similar shops in Belgium, this shop shows the differences of the origin of various CACAO all over the world beans and seems to suggest me to enjoy the chocolate itself.

Was really disappointed - no ambiance. Perhaps our expectations were spoilt, having visited Chocolateria San Gines in Madrid a few years ago.

Their chocolate basics are amazing, and they offer interesting variations and presentations. I got a box that outlines the history of chocolate beans. I think it will make a great gift.

It's a cafe slash chocolate house, pick your own chocolates behind little glass domes, we choose the traditional drink and four chocolates, very tasty. Little expensive however.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
