Very good food and service

I visited El Raco with my family, we were staying at a hotel nearby. The food was very good and the prices are reasonable. We liked the setting very much, the staff were very friendly and pleasant (which is not that usual in Barcelona apparently) Would definately recommend it if you are looking... read more

The place is pleasant with plenty of room. They even have a long table in case you feel like sharing. I have eaten there about 4 or five times. You can see how they kindle the fire for the meats and you also see the cooks handling pizzas into or out of the oven. The menu is not huge which... More

We concur with Edward O below. We ate here twice in our four night stay. It's not the easiest place to find. It's on Ramblas Catalunya up from Placa Catalunya. Best to walk on the left hand path or you may miss it. Isn't open until lunch.

Went there last night, it seems like they only have 3 waiters working 30 tables. So you can imagine how slow it was. Terrible experience.

Conveniently located in Eixample District, with a modest front but bright, spacious interior, this restaurant is a great alternative when you are experiencing tapas fatigue. Tables will give you elbow room. You can watch your meal being prepared in the open kitchen. Menu includes crepes, salads, risotto, pasta, pizza, steaks. There is a children's menu and families with young children... More

They had some very interesting pizza type things at El Raco. Different than what you would find at a typical pizza place. We enjoyed what we ordered. We were hungry and the food served it's purpose, but it was nothing to rave about.

This is a much bigger restaurant than the front suggests. We were welcomed warmly and seated quickly. Drinks were served promptly whilst we pondered the extensive menu. The food is prepared in open kitchens and when it arrived, was fantastic. I would warn however (and this would go for the local restaurants in general), that if ordering steak, order it... More

Walked in at the start of the evening and were greeted as if we were regulars. The pizza toppings were different to the run of the mill Pizzeria and I thoroughly enjoyed mine. My husband had steak and was also pleased with his choice. We had a good salad to start as well. Always like to see the chefs working... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
