So good that we went 2 times during our 6 days stay. On the first day we arrived 10 minutes before the open time, they let us stay inside(it was cold outside) and my son asked if would be possible to eat a couple of sushi in the bar downstair. The barwoman ask the sushiman and, voilá, in no time... More

I was in town for a meeting and had visited Barcelona frequently but had never dined here before. However, one our colleagues who is a local....had highly recommended this restaurant. We were seated on the 2nd floor. The setting is unique....the glass roof windows are retracted if the weather is cooperating. The cocktail list is a great way to start... More

My wife and I went to Tragaluz after a friend, who lives locally, recommended the place; we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere/ambiance of the place is good, with classic contemporary decor and a glass roof that really lets the light in. Our service was extremely good, much better than I'd expected from almost any restaurant back in the UK: our glasses... More

We had been recommended this restaurant as one of the highlights of Barcelona. But unfortunately the expectations not be met. The restaurant Tragaluz was a huge disappointment. Fame and prices not be correspond to reality. The quality of food was pretty mediocre, especially meat and desserts. The service was really bad, not professional and nasty. No doubt the prices are... Dear Mercedes: Thank you for your opinion. We are so sorry for your personal experience, the feedback that your colleagues give us that night was totally different. We know that your table was waiting for the main dishes. We already apologize about that many times and give you a bottle of cava Gramona. We will try to improve as always.... More

We had our team dinner here half way through a training course (12 of us). It was a set dinner with usual tapas starters and a choice of two main courses. Everything arrived in a timely manner and prior to the dessert the owner brought a magician to entertain us for around 5-10 minutes, with yours truly being selected as... More

If you aren't Spanish don't bother! Sat at a table on the 3rd floor next to the toilets! No one else on our floor apart from the constant stream of people using the toilets. We even booked 2 months ago for a special birthday dinner! Inconsistent, unattentive and miserable service. No refilling of water or wine. Long delays for the... More

Took my wife for dinner at Tragaluz, after having a "hint" from the concierge at Miramar... This was absolute heaven - a combination of classic dishes combined with a marvelous enthusiasm for cooking - a real pleasure - the menu combines everything from steak to fish in a very easy going way. Be sure to be sited in the upper... More

I visited this place for dinner yesterday and I have to say that nothing was memorable other than the poor service and the mediocre food. I had the fish with hazelnut and potato purée. It tasted like a store bought frozen fish pie. Despite the extensive wine list, the waitress couldn't recommend or explain it to us, nor did she... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
