We both did the Shunka tasting menu, which is 9 courses plus dessert for 68 euros each. The place itself is a little underwhelming, but the service was really great. Food was delicious from first to last course. We had oyster, smoked sardine, clams, salmon, a variety of sashimi, gambas, all of it seafood, all really yummy and well made. Washed it down with some Japanese beer and some sake, we had a great meal and would certainly go back. Never felt rushed, but food did not take too long either, the pacing was awesome. Highly recommended.

Very crowded and popular place. You should make a reservation. The fish was super fresh with a great variety. Lots of staff making the food quickly. Prices were not bad 25Euro for sushi or sashimi combo. Very friendly staff. Overall awesome restaurant with fish computable to any major US city.

I have been searching for my sashimi match for a while and finally discover this amazing place. Since, it has become my unique Japanese restaurant (with its sister Majide). The fish is really fresh and exquisite. Ramens, donburi, sushis... Everything is a must to try. 😋

In theory the menu is good. We regret changing the espardenyes (which we really wanted) for another dish, but on the menu they warn that they can make changes.
The surprise was when the plate of “Palamos prawns” arrived and the dish was frozen Argentine prawns, nothing like the Palamos prawns in taste or price. When I told the waitress, she insisted that they were gambes from Palamos. From all the customer images, the scam and continued deception of this fake product is very evident. She did not want to admit the deception and assured that she did not know how to distinguish them and that the cook said they were prawns. A dinner that could have been an 8 turned into an unacceptable scam.
Obviously we will never return nor recommend it. A big disappointment.

Great authentic Japanese food. The place was really busy, so I advise making a reservation in advance. However, the food came in quick and the service was great. The waitress did give us few recommendations for food and was the right choice. Would definitely come back. It wasn’t too expensive either, about 25€ per person.

Great place to eat sushi. Tried only the sashimi and sushi and can recommend to order the Toro, which was marvelous. Have eaten in Japan many times and the quality does really compare. Service very friendly and efficient, had a great lunch there.

Great food at this Japanese counter. The sautéed niguiris are a MUST! Delicious bull carpaccio, good salmon tataki and delicious wagyu! He
Chef's sashimi is top! Attentive service. Correct wine list (we had a good Riesling from Alsace) but some top ref would be missing! Thank you and fins aviat!!

Had a lunch at Shunka. Hadn't booked but got a place anyway. Took sardines for starter and a yakitori as main course. Both dishes were good. I recommend the place. Tomorrow it will be the sister restaurant Koy Shunka, a star restaurant🙏

Excellent place with delicious courses. We were lucky, as we didn't had a reservation, and they had a free table. Wagyu was AMAZING, as was everything we chose. It is not as expensive as it looks. Staff was friendly.

This is an unassuming restaurant, but the choice of food was fantastic. Lots for my Hubby to chose from who doesn't like sushi.
The food was well presented, tasty and service was great. `It is a busy spot, so I would recommend booking if you don't want to be disappointed.
This is not a pretentious restaurant, but rather good honest food at reasonable prices. Enjoy!

PLEASE STOP MISTAKING this sushi bar with the one michelin star restaurant two streets behind and from the same owners. This is NOT Koy Shunka. This is a very good sushi place with high quality food. NOT really expensive for sushi. Book only by telephone or web, don't go there directly, they don't really love spontaneous newcommers. I recommend it if you are arround Barcelona or some kilometers away. I wouldn' probably travel more than 200 km to eat there. I totally recommend it.

I went here for a friends birthday because she loves japanese cuisine. It was very nice, the dishes tasted very good, but I didn´t leave thinking I would rush back there. It´s not so cheap either.

Cosy restaurante 100m away from the cathedral in "casco gótico". Fast service but not fast food. Very good small portions of sushi with diversity of flavours. Not cheap but good value for the service and food quality. Recomend it for sushi lovers
