This is a very special place with their own concept how and what to serve and it is just great. There is an excellent choice of local specialties with reasonable pricing and large selection of wines. There is no seating available at this place, but...this is absolutely fine as this is part of the overall experience. I will go again for sure.More
My first Barcelona tapas and it was one of the best meals I've ever had anywhere. I went early and when my 1 hour (max allowed time) was up, there was a long line to get "in". I ate 5 servings, one twice. Two glasses...of house white and I couldn't believe how fantastic! All is prepared per oder. No dried-out selections vying for attention. The staff was very busy (2 behind the counter and 2 wait staff. The image on the page is the dish I ate twice. "Sandwich".More
You have to queue up and you also have to stand once you do get in …but it’s well worth it as the food is to die for! Go outside your comfort zone and accept guidance from the staff and they will select their recommendations...for you to try.! I wouldn’t normally have chosen loquat with anchovy but it was amazing! Likewise the goats cheese dish, pate dish and salmon with yogurt and honey were delicious! Hope to revisit one day!More
It is a small place but full of drinks and perfect flavours. We waited outside for approximately 25 mins, but the waiter came out time to time to feel the care and the chance to get in 😀 Every guest has 1 hour to eat...and drink. They are really good hosts, give reccomendations and help meanwhile running in circles in the small place to serve everybody. The food is exceptional. The variety of drinks is also.More
Decided to go based on the reviews. The atmosphere when we went was fun, I definitely recommend to go during lunchtime as it’s super small and cramped. Cool concept but I agree with some of the other reviewers it’s a bit overpriced for what you...get. Stop by if you’re in the area otherwise, don’t go out your way.More
The tapas was very nice but we felt they were on the pricier side at €3.50 each. Can recommend the prawn and salmon ones. Also had a couple of others such as the beef and the cockles which were also good. However, I think the...price was much too high for what you get, but worth the try.More
It is certainly a special place, as there used to be many of them in the Spanish villages and cities. Unfortunately, however, it is no longer an insider tip and it is totally overrun, cramped and crowded. It's a mass tourist location. We had 8...or 9 tapas, but only 2 of them were good in taste (salmon and calamari), but unfortunately not shareable because they are not served on bread but on a very dry crisp bread (same for the pan con tomate, which is not served on toasted bread). They have no kitchen and all tapas are cold, keep that in mind. We would not go there again, once seen is enough. There are many better ways to eat in this city, seated or not.More
First came here in 2012. And it is still the same. Great quality. Super nice and hilarious staff. Tasty tapas. Can be crowded but worth the persistence. Standing only so if you are older like us, stretch before you arrive. Ha! ;)
Small but great place off of Paral-Lel that is not even open on the weekends. I saw this place on a video and my girl and I tried it. We were lucky enough to get a table (standing tables only here and no outdoor seating)...and partake in the small but great selection of tapas. The location is excellent - it is an area that I have dubbed "Pinxto town" because there are so many bars in the walking area that have great tapas and pinxtos. So have two here and have two there.More
We are local that have not been living in Barcelona for the past 4 years. Today we have come back and the place is still as amazing as the first day. The family who runs is authentic, real, professional and charismatic. They have the best...produce and the best drinks offer, what can go wrong? Honestly, my favourite bar in the world. Try the anchovies, artichokes, cheese, mojama, cecina, salmon, foie, fino sherry, sauternes, perhaps everything.More
I went here because a friend recommended it. Ended up coming 3 times while in Barcelona. Was by far the best tapas I experienced and a very fun experience. A cute little spot that gets very busy. Relatively inexpensive and the staff is very friendly...and helpful. Had a lot of different seafood dishes (the seafood platter was super yummy). Cheese is good and generous too. Probably averaged 15 euros for 2-3 tapas/dishes and 2 drinks.More
We were recommended to visit this great tapas restaurant. Great tapas, wine and friendly service. It is a small place and you stand and eat at your table if you are fortunate to get one!
This is a traditional, tiny, very busy bar where we stopped for a late light lunch, sampling the montaditos (open sandwiches on toast) which were fabulous (highlights: scallops, smoked oyster with caviar, salmon with sweet grated egg yolk, cheese and mushroom) and enjoying the house...vermouth - very sweet and moreish. The shelves are stacked floor to ceiling with exquisite and interesting wines and spirits. For four of us, including two vermouths and soft drinks, the bill was around 40 Euro and we had plenty at two dishes each.More
It's been a while since we've visited Quimet & Quimet. Two years ago we came during summer - when it's closed for the season. This time we came before a cruise and it was open. Because of Covid-19 there was a time limit of 45...minutes (which they extended for us to 60 minutes because we kept ordering). This place is quite the famous spot. It's been on several TV Shows (most prominently probably with Anthony Bourdain as customer). And it's famous for a good reason: You will get the best Tapas you've ever had in this small place. It's been 8 years since our very first visit and it's still as great as the first time. It's a compact place and there are only tables to stand on, no sitting down. Without Covid-19 folks would drink and eat outside in the street, but not right now. Wine selection (also Cava, spirits and dessert wine) is huge and the prices small. The Tapas list is endless. And everything - really everything - we've ordered was amazing. There was not a single item which we didn't like. And the Tapas are so innovative and creative. The most unusual and exciting combinations. But they all work. Pics won't do it justice. Don't let yourself put off by the fact that pretty much everything comes out of cans and jars. The stuff here is top-notch Grade A quality. If there's one Tapas place to choose from in the whole of Spain, it this one here! And the staff/owners are fast! And not just fast: they are friendly and helpful as well, despite the fact that the place is fully packed. Order some classics like the Salmon with truffle honey. But also go for something you might not fall in love with when you read it on the menu. Try it, you might get surprised. I also loved the beef cheek very much. For a dessert, try the red orange flavoured wine! I could go on and on here, describing how great this place is. But why don't you stop by and find out for yourself? We'll be back....soon! Highly recommended.More
