Whilst walking back along the la rambla we took a detour into the Gothic quarter. La Fonda was great find on the corner; 4 of us had different starters and main courses, all were super. There was a good hustle and bustle in the restaurant which filled up by 9pm on a Saturday.

We couldn't eat our food, the staff was uninterested in us, they didn't ask about the food or anything. Would not come back, can't understand why it was so many people there.

Being so highly related, we were eager to try it. The restaurant was already full by 7pm which I thought looked promising. We ordered 4 fish dishes and a couple of starters that we has asked to be sides with the mains. They only brought half of our "sides" despite asking for them all together as starters. Eventually our mains... More

Place looked nice from outside, everything inside was disappointing. Food and service pretty average. "Fresh baked bread" wasn't fresh. Steak wasn't great and seafood Paella was mostly rice. Won't be back.

I had googled the best places for paella in barcelona and this did not dissapoint!! Its a beautiful restaurant, where we had vegetarian paella 8.95 per person which was brilliant considering some places charge 13/14 euros per person and we shared a bottle of house rose for just 8 euros! I think sangria was around 3.50 for a glass and... More

The flavour taste good, but there are nothing seafood in it. I think the regular paella is better, because they will not give you less seafood.

We'd been recommended to this place by our hotel. Outwardly the restaurant which is in the Barrio Gotica looked very smart suggesting a pleasant experience. It was anything but: having waited 10 minutes for a table my two sons and I were taken downstairs to an empty room. Following my refusal to sit there they found a table on one... More

Nice location, food was okay, but found that the seafood paella was 90 percent rice, rest peas and a bit of seafood. Not sure if we where just unlucky but service was super slow.

A native Barcelonan couple recommended we try La Fonda for a reasonable and good alternative to the more touristy/expensive/poor quality dining options offered on La Rambla. It is one street off of La Rambla and has a decidedly calmer ambiance. We enjoyed the atmosphere of a quiet, relaxed restaurant with low lighting and linen tablecloths. We shared a mixed seafood...
