On our son's recommendation, we visited La Fonda. We dined early on a Friday evening having first checked during the day that we would not need to book. The food and service were generally very good. We ordered from the set menu - the goat's cheese salad and carpaccio of beef for starters and we both ordered the traditional pork... More

Do yourself a favor and have dinner at this restaurant. There may be a line when you get there but that is only because people go back there more than once. It was recommended by a friend of mine and I can say this was the best meal we had in Barcelona.

The restaurant has a nice location and looks nice inside, but quickly you notice that these days it is mostly for tourists it seems. Filled with chinese when we visited, also with localized staff speaking many languages. Service was not bad, little bit slow and more towards the "please hurry up and order, there are other people waiting" style sadly.... More

€65 for family of 4, bread, main meal, 2 soft drinks and 1L of wine. Excellent quality, very busy, buzzing restaurant. Eaten in various places in Barcelona and this was by far the best. Menu of the Day €17 and €19 looked really good. Definitely recommend.

Best delicious and decently priced paella I tried in Barcelona. I am only giving it 4 stars because the service was really slow that day and they didn't seem to be busy but still highly recommend trying out their Paella if you happen to be at the Gothic Quarter. Delicious!!!

I love this place. It's got the white linen and service of a top restaurant with the price tag of a café. Classic Catalan dishes well presented. I have been going here since I was a student in Barcelona in the 90s and it still keeps me coming back 20 years on.

There's not much to say about this tourist rip off! Unfriendly staff serve tasteless food. That's it

About 20 years ago while studying in Europe, our university went on a school trip to Barcelona. The most memorable restaurant for me was La Fonda. Even though we were young students, the staff treated us well and made recommendations for items we probably would not have tried on our own. I remember taking their card and passing it on... More
