I went to La Fonda to have lunch with my girlfriend while shopping in Barcelona city center. We ordered the 'every day menu' composed by starter, main course and dessert. To drink rose wine of the house. As starters we had pasta with parmesano & salmon sauce and 'crashed' eggs with 'jamon'. Pasta was quite well cooked. Crashed eggs with... More

Atmosphere is good, service was professional and kind but main course was dull. Restaurant is rather big so waiting time is short.

We think the dining experience here is much dependent upon who is serving you! Some customers seemed to have a very friendly, smiling waiter...unfortunately ours was not such a cheery chappie. The service wasn't terrible, but could have been made so much better with the occasional smile! The food was OK. With the choice of eateries available in Barcelona we... More

Read some reviews, had a look and decided to eat. The standard of food was very good, it is a large spacious restaurant over two floors, the wine is inexpensive, most expensive bottle on the wine list was €15, for the centre of Barcelona that is excellent. Really enjoyed, would go back again.

When the waitress argues with you and rolls her eyes about what is plainly written on the menu (as she has brought the wrong thing), then you start having doubts about the restaurant. The food was average, the steak was shot through with fat so that put me off as I couldn't see what I was eating under the sauce.... More

We'd tried several times to get into this restaurant during our stay and there was always a long queue but on our final day we decided to stick with the queue and were not disappointed. The place was heaving, yet the service was efficient and we were not kept waiting around althoug the staff were rushed off their feet busy,... More

We visited La Fonda during our recent family trip to Barcelona. It is located in walking distance from the harbor and the harbour end of Las Ramblas. The staff was very friendly and also knowledgeable about gluten free diary needs and the food was good. Another advantage are the opening ours as La Fonda is one of the fewer restaurants... More

La Fonda was a recommendation and proved to be a most surprising and wonderful experience. Tucked away in a side street just off La Rambla we discovered a sophisticated jewel where a queue outside of around 10 meters suggested our insider tip had reached several others too. We joined the queue wondering how long it would take to get one... More

Without to have any previous information about Restaurant La Fonda we found it somehow during the daily walk through Barcelona. Some late lunch/early dinner was always very welcomed option for us, and this was the main reason to go inside. First impression was rather positive one. Atmosphere was warm, interior nice, welcoming service perfect. After some kind of small talk,... More
