I thought it would be third time lucky for Jai Ca, as my partner - who lives in the neighbourhood - has often been in the past and enjoyed it. However, again I was let down by the awful attitude of the serving staff. The last two times we have been the service has been slow - I once nearly... More

We visited this tapas restaurant on recommendations from friends. We were told the food was incredible and it certainly did not let us down. Unfortunately the service was awful, we waited 15 minutes for a table which wasn't a problem but it took a further 30 minutes to even be given a menu. To be fair, the waiter seemed to... More

Have been here many times. I love eating some deep-fried seafood and drink a cold beer after a warm day at the beach. The tapas they have a very good and I highly recommend a stop here.

Typical Spanish! dynamic place where delicious lunch/dinner is served for a very reasonable price. Must try the octopus!

We are used to come to barcelona very often (once or twice per year) and we cannot deserve to visit this place! Its tapas are the best in town, spanish people recommended. Really nice inside, lots of people always waiting for a table, so normally you have to leave the name and wait for your turn. Try it!

This place was recommended to me by some people who have been living here in Barcelona for a while, not to mention the reviews here on TripAdvisor are quite good. I made a reservation by calling (reservation was made in Spanish) and was able to get a table that same night. When I arrived, I was told to go to... More

Stumbled across this place and boy were we glad we did. We sought food as refuge from the sun. The bar man was very helpful, offering us tastings of a better beer and giving us recommendations. We had some food and a few beers and soaked up the atmosphere

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
