We came here around 9pm and the place was bustling with locals and tourists. It was not intimidatingly full like a few tapas restaurants we've been to. The food was well portioned and the seafood was very fresh. We got the mussels in marinara sauce and the serving was huge for 7.60 euros. Also had the fried cuttlefish and the... More

I have been here 4 times and high recommend the Jai Ca potatoes and the sesame chicken! The servers are friendly as always. Unfortunate is that location, hidden at the back of the Burger King. Doesn't make the food any less of course.

Typical tapas at very affordable prices, high quality and good portions. Great to share. It can be a bit busy some nights, but waiters are always very quick and give good service.

We were recommended this place our tour guide following a runner bean walking tour. The place was full of locals and we had to wait, but it was worth while. The atmosphere is buzzing and the food is great; Simple, high quality. Well worth a visit.

We stumbled over this place just wanting to borrow their restroom, and figured we'd sit down for a beer or two.. The atmosphere was really great, always a lot of people, many locals. The food is great! Simple, high quality! Really nice staff to! We ended up going here for lunch every day of our trip!

We went with my son's family including two grandchildren. We got there late for the kids. Apparently, this is a very popular local tapas restaurant as it was hopping. We ordered a lot of food and when it came, we thought we overdid it. In the end only meatballs and some bread were left over. I enjoyed the white anchovies... More

Proper Tapas. Recommended to us. Arrived 4pm on a Sunday. Very busy. By 520pm had quietened down considerably. Ate well. Very tasty and very good value. House wine excellent.

We took the pimientos del padrón, pulpo y calamar en cebolla (very good!) and 2 gambas. Everything is well prepared and tasty. We took a bottle of Vino turbio, a slightly sweet white wine, very good to have by the seafood. Prices are Ok.

We had to wait very long to get a seat on 2 different occasions. Both times was worth the wait however. Great tapas, especially the seafood. Amazing cuttlefish!

We went here after reading the amazing review but very disappointed with the food. We had the Spanish omelette which is not bad but then we had the croquettes which was alright but the last dish we had, calamari was very bland and chewy. We couldn't even try to finish our food. Very disappointing :(

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
