Small, cozy and very fast service. Personnel is very nice and offered suggestions. Food is tasty, worth the money.

We were taken to this small tapas bar by a friend who lives in Barcelona. We had a fair variety of tapas , which were wonderful. The place was very busy with local people. In fact we were lucky to get a seat. So if you are a veggie/vegan in Barcelona try this out.

Stopped here after day of exploring old Barcelona. An efficient waiter brought tuna salad, mixed veggies, bread, croquettes, and fried mushrooms for around 20 euros. Would definitely go again.

The tapas were great and affordable. We had the pimentos and razor shell clams with croquettes. A little hard to find but maybe I'm just bad with directions.

This joint in the Barcelona harbor warehouse quarter looks great: down to earth streetside ambience, nice bar, fresh fish on display etc. We had a reservation, so were able to get a street table at the corner (there are only three tables outside) so felt good about it. But the food was less than great: the deep fried small fish... More

I ordered a meat dish that tasted fishy, the waiter said it was because they cooked on the slam heating slate as the fish. It tasted terrible. The meatballs were good but that is it, i also ordered an assortment of cheese and was given a sad plate of one cheese drizzled in oil. I would not suggest this to... More

Traditional menu for a tapas place. Nice quiet location in Barceloneta. We went there on Saturday evening around 7 pm and we waited around 20 minutes to get a table. Service was extremely slow and the waiter couldn't be bothered with tiniest smile or politeness. My husband had to get a menu himself since we didnt get it any time... More

Food was great, was super busy when we went and had to book. Great if you want authentic tapas. We were sat in a busy area with a lot of people rushing past. Price was respectable for the food

Jai-ca looks like it hasn't been refurbished for a while, but the tapas are good and very reasonable. I had the gambas a la plancha....they were absolutely perfect. The tortilla de patatas was also very good. I can see why this restaurant is so busy with locals.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
