A great little tapas bar which is off the beaten track, but well worth searching out if you're nearby. We visited twice when we were in Barcelona, once on a very busy Saturday afternoon, and again on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime. The food is all freshly cooked and delicious, I particularly recommend the Greek salad and anchovies. They have a... More

We wanted a more traditional place to eat, the food was divine, particularly the monkfish and prawns, lovely atmosphere, popular with locals and tourists.

Enjoy tapas in old Spain avoiding plastic imitations.I would recommend that you try any of the fish dishes especially the calamari.

I visited jaica with a couple of my friends who i just moved into the neighbourhood with, it is our local tapas place so we had high hope. we were seated and greeted by a unenthusiastic waitress, my first impression was that i t was far more expensive than most tapas places i have eaten at before, but we were... Thanks to our lonely planet guide, we decided to give this place a try for lunch. So glad! Very authentic place. Place was packed with locals watching soccer on a Saturday afternoon. Great vibe. Nice gazpacho. Anchovies special with "fried fish bones" was a pleasant surprise. Generous plate of Iberian ham. GRILLED SARDINES AMAZING! (Generous portion, 3 large sardines). Grilled... More

After a day at the beach we arrived here only to find it jam packed. With no tables available we walked a block further and found they actually have a second building. Having never really had tapas we read mixed things about the price. Lonely planet for example listed this place as cheap and worth it when dining on a... More

Appeared to be the locals top choice in the neighborhood for tapas - every seat was taken and we didn't hear any of the diners speaking English. My friend, who recommended this spot to us, promised the best patatas bravas in the city, and this spot did not disappointment! Great spot for authentic, low-cost tapas.

This is an authentic small quaint tapas restaurant usually full of locals and the occasional tourists. I loved the atmosphere, the sounds and the incredibly rich food. The dishes had great flavour, some were maybe a little on the heavy side, but enjoyed them very much none the less. I'll guarantee your stomach and tastebuds will be satisfied.

Thank Marcus M

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
