After some 'well seasoned' advice from a friend who now lives in Barcelona, I eagerly tried some tapas after a long day of discovering the town on foot. I had patatas bravas, gambitas fritas and some round fried fritters with saltfish inside. Eating shrimp can be a hard task but...they were so well fried that I could literally chew and... More

This place is in the guide books and with good reason. May seem a little off the obvious tourist route but all the better for it. We called in mid afternoon for tapas and were pleasantly impressed. Great food, simple and authentic and vast majority of people there were Spanish which we took as a good sign. Doesn't look anything... More

We came here by recommendation of the owner of our apartment and we weren't disappointed. Really tasty food, very generous portion sizes and everything tasted fresh. The atmosphere was very relaxing which made for a nice place to get out of the sun and chill with lunch and a beer.

You get to choose from a wide selection of Tapas. Food arrives after a few minutes. Loved the frozen lemonade + beer. Great local feel

This is more a bar than a restaurant and they have very few seating places. There is another bar with the same name 50m away, I'm not sure if they are related... Prices are not very cheap but the food is served in good quantity and tastes delicious. For 40Eur (2pers) we had a big dinner including 1L of Sangria.... More

My five year old son and I visited one evening while we were on holiday and had the most delicious tapas. Friendly staff, a nice buzz, full of locals, which must be a good sign! We'd definitely visit again if we return to the city.

You have to go here when you are in Barcelona! We found this in a guide book and can honestly say it was the best meal we had in the 4 days we were in the city. It is set back from the beach and once you find it it is a gem! The restaurant is a bustling lovely place... More

Amazing food, helpful staff. Could tell it was going to be nice as it was completely packed out with locals when we arrived. 100% would recommend anyone looking for a feel of the real Barcelona.

I have been there for an evening/night beers and tapas. We had real good foods in a good atmosphere with locals. It is a very famous tapas bar and a must while passing through Barcelona. I do recammnd but I suggest you to go early (we were there at around 06 : 00pm) to have a vacant table and enjoy... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
