I was so looking forward to good food after a bad experience in a bar restaurant the night before and this restaurant did not disappoint! Elche is well known for their rice dishes and the paellas were really good. The seafood were fresh and the price for a bottle of white wine was reasonable. I would highly recommend this place... Went here for an evening meal with the family on a Saturday night. The restaurant itself is very nice and modern, almost got a fine dining feel, however they haven't quite got it right. The owner was very friendly and you could tell he wanted people to enjoy his restaurant. Most of us ordered the paella, the portions were big... More

This little place is adorably decorated. The service was decent but could have been better. The salads, soup and steak were amazing, as were the desserts. For an authentic experience, order the apple dessert. It doesn't say it on the menu, but it comes with a hot chocolate drizzle that was to die for!

The restaurant looks like it has class, but fails. The food was just about ok, but really boring. Only good thing was the shrimp we had as starters. Won't revisit.

I went with a friend, we were looking for a very good paella in Barcelona and we found it at Elche. If you want elegance, if you have a date, of you simply want a paella in peace (with some class), you have to came here! Prices are right.

Booked for a family of 4 including 11 and 13 year olds at the request of the eldest wanting the 'best' paella. The place was recommended by a local but I was put off by the mixed reviews. Needless to say we went a head for Sunday night dinner and booked for 8pm. The service is 'surly' so I can... More

We had lunch at Elche hoping to have authentic Spanish paella. Elche is an upscale restaurant with excellent service. When we arrived at opening time, we were initially told we needed a reservation but was then seated upstairs. The fried artichoke appetizer we ordered was delicious. After the appetizer, a large pan of seafood and chicken paella for two was... More

I wish I'd done a bit more research and perhaps read up a few more reviews on Tripadvisor before heading to Elche. Not an experience I'd wanted to repeat. I'd heard that Elche was known for excellent, authentic paella so we headed there for dinner one evening after visiting Parc Guell (which it is quite conveniently nearby). When we were... More

Overpriced for what it is. The Paella is decent, everything else we had was terrible. Service was very poor. Complained about our dessert and staff was basically like "we are not know for our dessert."

We pre-booked out table, on arrival there was confusion because the table allotted was given to another couple. We were then seated at a table directly opposite the entrance to the kitchen and a few steps from the toilet. We refused and were then offered a table on the first floor. They got one of the starters wrong, we ordered... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
