My partner and I visited Elche for dinner on the day before we were due to leave Barcelona. The restaurant was clean, with nice decor and attentive waiting staff. The food was lovely, especially the monkfish which was bursting with flavour and came as a very hearty portion. Not the cheapest restaurant, but worth a visit!

Despite reading some of the more negative reviews, we decided to give this place a go as it was close to our apartment. When we arrived, it looked great, especially the decor. The waiters are all dressed in white however we got the impression that this place was trying to be too fancy for what it actually is. They weren't... More

This place looks the business from the outside and and inside and has all the waiters dressed in the obligatory white jackets. Now on to the review. One to avoid, even if recommended by your hotel. We had the meat and seafood paella which they took away to serve up , despite us asking them not to. What came back... More

Our host had recommended Elche for paella so we promptly headed there. We were not disappointed. The atmosphere is quiet and lovely, we had not made a reservation, but it looks like you should. We had the most delicious paella with chicken and sausage and a pitcher of sangria. Both were out of this world. Literally if I even think... More

We visited Elche for dinner as it had been recommended for paella. We made a booking earlier on the day. When we arrived, we found the restaurant crowded, but our table was waiting. The food was great and the wine that the waiter recommended was very nice. Overall, a good experience. We may return later in the week to try... More

Tried this hotel after being recommend it by hotel staff member. Looked good when we arrived and was busy..It would appear to specialize in seafood but my partner and I both ordered the steaks. One medium and one well done. They turned up rare almost blue and the other medium at best..I left all of mine, both arrived almost cold with... More

Went for paella on recommendation by our airBnB host and timeout review rating it in the top 10 for paella in Barcelona. No atmosphere, terrible service. Ordered seafood paella for two. The waiter showed us a pan with paella and then brought it plated. Not sure it was the same paella! Mine came with two shrimp, several tough squid rings... More

We had a great dinner here the fish was just fantastic and the service matched the quality of the food. The wines were fantastic and very reasonably priced.

I went here for an afternoon meal as it was just around the corner from my hotel. The decor and prices led me to belive I would be getting a good quality Spanish meal. I wish I had read reviews before going here. While the restaurant looks superb and the staff are friendly I found the food itself to be... More

Restaurant was recommended by the concierge. Paella was not flavorful. High priced restaurant. Although did get a good bottle of wine for €10. Also I paella priced kind of false advertising as a paella price will say €25 but then in Fine Print states that a minimum of two servings required for purchase so it is really 50 euro. Don't... Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
