My husband chose Casa Calvet on our first arrival day to Barcelona for his birthday lunch and we were not disappointed! The setting is an old traditional old world feel with furnishings dated to the late 19th century. We loved the decor and romantic feel and the fact it is situated in a Gaudian home in which part of the... More

We went for dinner straight after arrival in the airport. They did not disappoint. Top notch service; amuse-bouche; few choices on the menu but all of them wonderful. We had appetizers, mains and desert with wine. Everything was excellent. Especially the complex flavors of the dishes. Highly recommend.

We were recommended by our hotel to this great little restaurant serving fine food. We had no expectations but the place turned out to be a winner- very tasty salads and super good sea bass. We could not have expected better. The setting is lovely in a house designed by Gaudi. It even had private dining booths - something I... More

The setting is fantastic, great to be in a house designed by Gaudi. Our table was lovely too. We went for the tasting menu which wasn't as great as we'd been expecting. The food was certainly nice, but for the price we did expect it to be better. The real let down was the wine flight to go with it... More

I was staying at a nearby hotel and visited here for dinner on my birthday. Lovely welcoming staff, amazing decor and most importantly delicious food. I'd had a big lunch so didn't have starter, but for the main I had vegetarian pasta with seasonal vegetables and tofu in a lovely creamy cheese sauce, and for dessert I had a mini... More

I've always loved Gaudi's architecture and when I heard there was a superb restaurant in one of his buildings I made my way there with husband and friends. It did not disappoint! The food was excellent and was applauded by all four of us....and we are New Yorkers with great restaurants all around us. The surroundings were very much of... More

It was time to indulge and I booked a table for one. Before stepping in had not even known was in a Gaudi designed building and space. Absolutely gorgeous. Full of old world charm. Could easily have been in the 19th century. Spectacularly beautiful space; friendly English speaking staff. Very elegant but not expensive. I started with a salad of... More

We enjoyed great lunch in this traditional restaurant that is located in the center of Barcelona. Although it was holiday season, most of the visitors were locals including business people who came there to lunch. We selected our food from their daily lunch menu, as it had several tempting option. Food was good, and the service was friendly. The restaurant... More

Wonderful building, sympathetically restored into a luxurious restaurant. Fantastic to enjoy a meal in such a historical building - a feast for the eyes and mind Incredible wine list with reasonably priced bottles, great staff if a little formal, superb interesting food. I had the salted brioche with foie gras starter - fantastic marriage of flavours, - amuse bouche of... More

Restaurant Casa Calvet is located in Casa Calvet, a building created for a textile manufacturer by the Catalan Architectural genius Antoni Gaudi.

Its accounting offices, management and boardrooms have been converted into semi-private dining rooms where we have preserved taste and elegance to the delight of our customers.

Restaurant Casa Calvet is a unique and exclusive place where dining becomes a sensual experience which blends the state of the art cuisine with the beauty of Gaudi's work.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
