My wife and I really liked the food. The seafood croquettes were delicious and so was the paella. It didn't seem to be cooked to perfection but it tasted great. The restaurant also has a great atmosphere. I think that our server wasn't great however. I waited tables when I was younger for many years and I always find a... More

Had high hopes for this restaurant and its famous paella. I made a reservation months in advance and printed the confirmation. When my family arrived, they had no record of my reservation. Mistakes can happen and I had the confirmation with me, so they seated me, but the host looked annoyed. When I tasted our paella, I was so disappointed!... More

Been wanting to go to this restaurant for years and it was well worth the visit. Fantastic food and great service. The grilled octopus is to die for. The gourmet seafood paella was really good. Even the dessert was divine (the chocolate mousse cake). The terrace is the best seat in summer. Don't forget to make a res beforehand. Will... More

Three of us found this restaurant from several guidebooks and wondered if it would be overrun with American tourists. Whether it was or not, it is a wonderful place to enjoy a lovely relaxed meal in Barcelona. Unfortunately, we could not get a table outside which would have required advance planning or better luck. We started with fresh oysters and... More

Whenever we are in Barcelona we visit Can Majo.. Located in Barcelonetta. They are gracious and serve the best paella we have ever had. Wash it down with a bottle of well priced Cava!

Went here with a couple of co-workers and didn't have reservations. Luckily it was earlier in the evening and I spoke enough Spanish to get some helpfull assistance. I'm glad it worked out cause the Paella was delicious. They portioned the order and plated it nicely. Enjoyed sitting so close to the beach outside and taking in the views. Some... More

Not a cheap place for eats but definitely worth the money. You would see a lot restaurants as you walk down Passeig de Joan de Borbo to get to Almirall Aixada towards the beach and be tempted by the waiters waiving you into their establishments. Be steadfast and remain on course to get to your reservation at this place. You... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
