We found this place rated one of 20 best restaurants in Spain by Business Insider, and the best place for authentic paella. Almost every restaurant in the Barcelonata region serve paella and it is difficult for a visitor to pick. Some of them are tourist traps and serve ready made paella reheated by microwave. Can Majo is no such place... More

It was my birthday and we headed down to where the good paella restaurants were located, down by the Mediterrean. We went straight to Can Majo following our map, a lovely place outdoors in sight of the Mediterranean. At the last minute I decided to try the Fideau and it was really delicious. Sine then I've been hooked on squid... More

This is a great location on the beach. Make your reservation for outside. The mussels were great as an appetizer. Plenty to share. The bouillabaisse was the best item on the menu. A must for fish lovers. The paella was also good but nothing special for Barcelona.

Wow, what can I say? We got the paella of course and it was the best I've ever had (and I lived in Spain for a year). The waiter was very professional and friendly without being too intrusive. It was a perfect dining experience. We ate inside because outside was booked solid until closing, so if you want to eat... More

I reserved a table for me and my sister at this restaurant because was marked as the best place to eat typical food in the city guide we had. The food was really good, we eat couple of entries and paella (all delicious) accompanied with a very good Spanish white wine the waiter recommended us, and desserts. The dinner was... More

This place was recommended to us and booked by our hotel, when we were looking for some real seafood stuff. Excellent interior with white tablecloth tables (was completely busy outside), precise service (almost all waiters were gentlemen over 45 - 50, and did not look too friendly in the beginning), excellent food and very good choice of wine. Would come... More

We went here because it was supposed to be the best paella in Barcelona. The waitstaff was excellent. Fancy place. Pricey. But really good food. My husband says he still like my paella better.

Nice seafood with an excellent variety. Very good location by the beach. However a bit expensive compared to the quantity they serve. Always make an advanced booking since they are almost always full.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
