So my wife and I found this place our second day in Barcelona, and ended up eating breakfast here 3 days. We absolutely loved this place, and they do have variouos locations around the city. Huge display cases that showcase pastries, yogurts, fruits, sandwiches, and...much more. Their cafe con leche (coffee latte) was delicious! Prices were fair, ample seating and staff was very friendly at this location. Conveniently located near either Sagrada Familia or Casa Mila (La Pedrera). Highly recommended.More

Browsing the neighbourhood and stopped by this café for a snack, Ordered a cappuccino each, I selected a cheesecake slice and my wife a cookie (or similar). Quick service and an enjoyable snack.

The best coffee. Including cappuccino made by knowledgeable baristas, great pastries and small tidy sandwiches. Friendly efficient service and fair prices. Some of the selections are spicy but mostly just good food. Inexpensive way to take food for the plane I have found as well

This is actually for the El Fornet at Pau Claris 190, which is a couple of blocks away. Did not realize this is a chain till checking here. We stumbled upon it by accident, and actually stopped by twice in one day, once for lunch,...and once for coffee and pastries. Both times the food and coffee was excellent, and the people nice. The sandwiches were fresh and the bread excellent. The pastries were amongst the best we had in Barcelona, and my wife is very picky when it comes to pastries! The decor is attractive and the place was impeccably clean, and it was good value for the money. We highly recommend this place, and If the others are anything like it they are worth seeking out!More

I have to say the food is looking very tasty but when I tried not that tasty , I ordered an empanada they gave it to me cold, and some croquetas that were cold as well. Coffee was nice. I just recommend this place if...you are in a hurryMore

Located directly across the street from my hotel the gallery it offers excellently coffee prepared efficiently with top notch postres. And sandwiches and salads. Prices are good alternatives to the high ones in the hotels and it is sparkling clean. There are a few around...the city as well.More

We chose this place because it looked really nice and appetizing. Let's begin with service: slow and quite rude. It took forever for orders to be placed and let's not talk about the confusion to simply pay the bill (and no, language was not the...problem). The food tasted old, definitely nothing compared to other places we went to in Barcelona. And the bill of course turned out to be expensive considering the quality of what we got. A place with a lot of potential but lacking in so many areas.More

Undrinkable coffee and stale cakes . I sent my palmier back after watching the assistant select one from the front of the pile and finding it stale and soggy only to receive another exactly the same . The coffee is abysmally bad and bitter ....Don't bother this place is part of a chain and the staff didn't care that I ate none of my food ....there are many much better patisseries in BarcelonaMore

Bar Level Tapas is right down the block from Olivia Balmes Hotel where we were staying for a couple of nights (VERY nice hotel, BTW). We were in the mood for something fast, a salad, maybe. The concierge at Olivia Balmes recommended Bar Level Tapas....We spotted the exact salad we wanted, right in their display case as we entered. Hubby and I split that along with a cup of cappuccino and a macaroon for dessert. Really good coffee! And the salad, a variety of tender young spring greens with lentils, olives and Iberian (acorn-fed) ham, we devoured. And that macaroon. So moist and tasty. I was wishing I'd gotten half a dozen of those! But then I'd have to work too hard to lose those extra pesky five pounds! Wish this place was near where we lived. We'd go there all the time.
