Stumbled across the Bar Malasang during a hop on hop off bus trip wasn’t our first choice but the place we wanted was fully booked luckily the Bar Malasang was a great second best. Extremely helpful and friendly staff who made us feel more than...welcome. Not the biggest choice on the lunchtime menu but what we choose with the help of the staff was really good. Can definitely recommend for a lunchtime.More

We moved to Barcelona just over 2 years ago and go to Malasang pretty much every week. The food is great and consistent. The chef is always adding a nice twist to dishes and shows passion. We have now moved to Valencia and will miss...Malasang!More

Extremely friendly, very helpful, catered for vegetarians, vegans & meat eaters. The best meal we had in Barcelona & reassuringly full of locals. Menus available in English & very reasonable. Would definitely go back.

This is a bar restaurant that the locals go to. They have very good authentic Catalan menu. The attendants were great. My husband wanted callos and it was so good. I highly recommend this place.

We spend a lot of time in Barcelona. Bar Malasang is our go-to neighborhood bar in l'Eixample for drinks and tapas, for lunch, an afternoon snack or a leisurely evening meal with family or friends. Personal favorites are the calamari, which are light and crispy...and not oily, and the tender pulpo. There are other tasty items on the menu, such as duck breast, but also the occasional miss. The mixed drinks are quite good, although they can be very slow in arriving, and the beer and wine selection offers good options. The table service varies a lot. We've had fast, friendly service and also neglectful service. The atmosphere is comfortable, and there are some tables for groups of 6 or so. Perhaps they can accommodate larger groups by pushing tables together, but it is not a huge place and can be quite full. They do take reservations, which we've done at busy times, especially when with family and friends to ensure that we get a suitable table. Note that Catalan is mostly spoken here, although menus and tapas choices can be obtained in English so ordering need not be a problem. Bar Malasang is a true neighborhood gem.More

Great Service, the staff is very friendly, the Moscow Mule was perfect and they offer a board of specials. Try a few and enjoy.

What a shame, it could be a great place, but the staff is not bothered about the hospitality they are offering their guests. Unpleasant. Food is fine, nothing exciting. Plenty of places to visit that will be more grateful for your custom.

Lovely place for drinks and food. The tapas were lovely and the staff very friendly. Fair price for the quality of the food.

Good place to eat Spanish tapas considering BCN standards. Octopus with sweet potatoes and calamares were great. Tried carrot cake as a desert. Overall good value and pleasant atmosphere.

Place looked cool and as if the food would be tasty, but the waiter didn't know about the food they were serving - also very overpriced and not even good! Patatos were flavorless, ceviche had a terrible strong flavoured fish, and the portions were tiny....Meanwhile the cooks were taking the piss in the kitchen. They need to get serious about service AND the food! Total bummer.More

This is the sort of restaurant you'll wish to have close to your place. It's a place where you will feel at home, the atmosphere is inviting, relaxed, calm and pleasant. The food quality is top notch, including some old school tapas and dishes with...modern twists and some really top cuisine specialties which could actually be compared to michelin starred restaurants. The price? Sometimes way too cheap for what it is. In fact, we were quite surprised of how fair the check was bearing in mind we drank so many wine bottles and beers. To top it off, they offer a great selection of whiskeys and gins, prepared in a very elaborate and proffessional way. An absolute must visit for a relaxed dinner/brunch/lunch.More

During our stay in Barcelona we got the tip to have dinner at Tarambana. We didn't make a resevation, so we had to wait for a while. No problem with a glass of vermouth and a cool beer. The tapas were great. The staff was...friendly. A great place to enjoy good food.More

We arrived at 9:30 with no reservation. Place was busy but waiter was friendly and suggested we wait at the bar. Seated quickly and ordered 8-9 tapas four family of four. Half came quickly and the other half nearly an hour later--by which time we...were getting full. Overall, very friendly, food decent if not stellar, and a fun place for groups.More

Taramba may serve as a bar or restaurant depending on the time.. Its tapas are great and generous, try the goat cheese salad, it's one of the best I've eaten in Barcelona so far. Service on the other hand is not so good..

I have been here a couple of times. It is a good restaurant to have a small snack or even a glass of wine with friends. The cuisine is not very elaborate and the amounts are a bit " constrained" but in average the quality...is good and I recommend it.More
