This place is awful. The food is completly tasteless. Their "patata bravas" are a complete joke. I've eaten a few in Barcelona but this are by far the worst. They are just some fried patatos with some cream on top. Calamari are no way near fresh. Too bad because the market is right next to them and they asvertise as... More

This is a great local and unpretentious restaurant serving amazing seafood just feet away from the market fish stalls! The seafood is so fresh and well cooked. Highly recommended!

We've just have a lunch, menu del dia. It was perfect. The best sea food. Prices are OK and for 15€ per person you can have 1st and 2nd plates and some of postress (recommend to take la crema catalana).

We weren't expecting much from this restaurant which I suspected to be a typical tourist hotspot and how mistaken were we. The seafood plaster that my wife and I shared (cost €35) was one of the best we have had! Generous quantity that we struggled to do justice to and the service matched the food. We will definitely go there... More

Went twice during our stay in Barcelona. There are several outdoor restaurants in La Boqueria, side to side and this one is always full. Good variety of food on a 3 course menu, great paella, fish is freshly prepared, excellent sangria.

Situated within La Boqueria market off Ramblas. party of 4 adults, we called in for an early lunch before our flight home. We had previously been charged quite a lot at another restaurant for a basic selection of mixed tapas so were rather sceptical of the fixed price menu at 15euro, this was on a chalk board to the left... A great place in the Mercat de la Boqueria, the portions are really good and all the food is fresh. I really like it, been here twice, the first time with my parents and some friends that knew the restaurant and the second time with a friend, this time we asked for the menu of the day and it was... We went to this place because it seemed less full than the surrounding restaurants: that should have been a warning! The seaflood platter was too oily, and some of the seafood was clearly off- overcooked to hide the fact that it was bad. We told the waiter and he looked at us with a face of utter annoyance, took the... More

We stopped by this restaurant before the rush hour, and the waiter seemed to be very annoyed at us and at life itself. We ordered the seafood platter, but left it half full (or maybe half empty....), since the amount of oil was inedible. The waiter remained uninterested even when we asked for the bill - perhaps he was used... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
