We were strolling through the area on our last day in Barcelona and Barceloneta had been recommended for paella. We did not have a reservation for lunch but we were seated promptly at a nice table overlooking the harbor on a beautiful day. We ordered the paella and loved it! The "boss" even took our picture and gave us a... More

This place was a real disappointment. Unfriendly from the start, when we arrived until we left. Probably they can afford everything. We just ordered starters and wine, as we did not know, how hungry we were. Obviously, that was not the waiter's taste. Even when ordering a wine. Having said so, the soup arrived and it tasted like something like... More

I brought my partner here while on holiday after being entertained here by a business partner in the past. It is a bustling seafood restaurant with a lot of tables inside and out. Large tables are possible booking ahead. Everytime I have been (now three) the food has been fantastic and service professional. Great for families, business, couples etc. Everything... More

Perhaps the most attentive service ever, the staff could not do enough to help. The views overlooking the yachts are nice both day and night. We ate paella which was good, not the best paella I have tasted, but still worth recommending. Perhaps more recommendable for a lunchtime.

With high expectations we went for lunch. The service was exceptionally bad. The fish was supposed to filet had bones. Good far from being good. Overall bad experience.

corporate dinner as part of conference from UK for about 20. Tricky to get this right. Food was plentiful and good and, for bulk catering was impressive. some of the party were a bit picky about seafood and the restaurant seemed to cope with this without fuss or bother. the ambiance was a bit less impressive. Now, to be fair,... More

If you know Spain, the word Asador means roast meat and specifically lamb and sucking pig. ( not beef unless you are in Argentina) This is not part of the Catalan tradition, but well worth searching for if you are there. You used to have to go to Madrid to find an asador, but they opened in Barcelona about 25... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
