A very simple restaurant/tapas bar. When we arrived a couple of local musicians dressed up as troubadours were leaving to busk for the tourists. The menu claims the restaurant to be part of the slow food movement. Choose your fish tapas from the bar, order the specials and your food is cooked in the open kitchen. We had a bottle... More

Thought we would give this little place a try seeing as the reviews were so good, and it was well worth it. I thought it was reasonably priced, food was fresh, especially the seafood, service and staff were excellent, wine was cheap and the nicest I've had on our trip so far (15€). Our whole bill for 5 dishes, bottle... More

we visited this restaurant after reading reviews on TA. We were delighted. Small restaurant, kind staff. We have been told about all daily offers. Waitress who cares about us was showing all the meals and explain our questions. I would recommend it to other travellers who wants to eat out of tourist hustle.

The food was delicious. We came to the restaurant because it was highly recommend by trip advisor and it was true. I would highly recommend to go to the restaurant for the food.

We visited this place because of the many recommondations on Tripadvisor. We enjoyed the friendly service. The Paella was delicious and the Crema Catalan was a perfect finish for the Dinner.

I had booked at this restaurant based on reviews and we weren't disappointed. This is a lovely little restaurant with great atmosphere and fantastic food. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The dishes are lined on the counter so you can see what you're ordering. We had grilled prawns, snails, sardines, tomato bread, bomba and folowd up with the cleverest dessert... More

We stopped by just to have a glass of vermouth but ending up having tapas. The service as friendly and made us feel very welcome. Snails, anchovies, pan Catalan and soborasada were awesome but the croquetas are just to die for. Local, tiny place worth visiting. Muy bien.

An amazing restaurant serving a wide range of tapas. Their seafood is especially good and they have an excellent wine and beer selection and friends (and multi lingual) staff. A little less experimental than some of the other local tapas bars but does the traditional very well and has a great atmosphere.

Unfortunately we did can not share the glowing Trip Advisor endorsements that prompted us to try La Peninsular. While we agree the waiter was helpful there is little else positive we can say about this small eatery. Our findings were the following: 1. Seafood was fresh but highly overpriced for the portion size. In addition at their prices we should... More

First time in Barcelona and we booked this from the states. After a fun taxi ride, we walked into this restaurant and was immediately greeted by Aldo, our waiter. He was charming, funny and very patient with us. He brought us up to the counter and explained all the different foods on the menu. Everything we ordered was amazing!! Cooked... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
