My friend and I arrived in the evening. When we had arrive, lots of people there. Staffs were nice. They always smiled to us, and answered every questions. For the food, it was 1-1.85 euros for each tapas (pinx...). Vary tastes.

On a weekend trip to Barcelona we were looking for an authentic "non-touristy" tapas bar. La Tasqueta de Blai was a recommendation that did not disappoint! There was a wide variety of tapas available and the wait staff kept them coming. Everything was tasty and delicious with lots of flavor. The house cava was amazing as well. This spot is... More

We first found this wonderful little local restaurant on private food tour of the best tastes of Barcelona...and we were sold. Went two more times on our own for lunch. They specialize in canapé like small dishes called Pinchos, usually including meat, fish, sausages and/or cheese on a slice of a baguette type bread. The varieties are amazing, and everything... My friend and I arrived around 6pm on a Wednesday and were instantly seated at a small table near the window. The space itself is relatively small and narrow, with people mainly seated along the bar where the pintxos are displayed. It can be a little awkward, especially if you're petite as I am, to lean over folks to select... More

Dinner was amazing, the pinchos concept is great and the beers were very affordable. The place is very busy from 19:00 onwards, but tables tend to free up rather fast, worth waiting in line for.

One of my favorite restaurant experiences in Barcelona! Went there pretty late one evening. Great staff, really fun and chatty and mixed a mean drink. Food is super cheap and delicious, and they come in with new stuff all the time. We sat at the bar, which I would recommend if you like a fast paced, high-energy meal, which was... More

This little gem of a bar is the perfect spot to wind down for the day and enjoy some delicious Spanish tapas. With traditional favorites like meat and seafood crouquetas cooked to perfection or some of the other equally appetizing creations you probably have never tried before, this place has everything you are looking for. I highly recommend making a... More

Carrer Blai is a couple of streets behind the many theaters and concert halls of Avendia del Parallel. At 8 pm on a Saturday night, La Tasqueta was packed, but many similar places close by were relatively empty. We decided to try our luck, and were quickly seated on a small table, sharing with two other people. Drinks were quickly... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
