The restaurant was really quiet and we were a little worried about going in! We looked at the menu and a very nice young man, who spoke excellent English, didn't put us under any pressure and answered our questions. We had a delicious meal - pulpo a la Galega was our favourite but all the other tapas were really good... More

We found this restaurant close by our apartment. Luckily we hadn't read the reviews because we may have been put off!We found both service and food very good.We had paella crammed full of lobster, mussels, calamari. Enough for two for 44 euro. The two wait - staff both spoke very good English and were very helpful. Give this little restaurant... More

If you want to try an authentic Paella in Barcelona this is the place to go. The food is very well prepared and the waiters were very caring. I'm sure you'll like it too during your stay in Barcelona.

When we arrived a spanish speaking lady tried to get us in. After a while a second lady came and spoke also fast and almost aggressive to us. Guess what, a third Person then came and started talking to us while we did not speak or understand any spanish at all. Since we got the advice to go there by... More

We had the chicken paella and it was just awful. The rice was hard, the vegetables were canned und the chicken bones were inside the meal. Combined with no atmosphere at all. Just don't go there.

What an incredible restaurant. Great food, delicious, flavorful, fresh. Great customer service (Thank you Raul!). Sangria was wonderful. Dessert delicious. It was a great dinner. Generous portions. Just really good. I'm so glad the Farmacia across the street recommended this restaurant. All of us (4 adults) were so very pleased.

This was the worst experience in my entire stay in Spain!! Nobody speaks English, the food is completely different from how it's written/explained on the menu.. The waitress keep standing beside your table almost every second (no privacy)always someone behind you/beside you..and mostly its pricey compared to other Barcelona prices.. So Not worth it PLEASE AVOID!!!

Second visit to the restaurant, had a excellent seafood Paella which included half a lobster and a number of prawns etc. Friendly owner and waiter who speaks no English. Looking forward to returning again as nothing too much trouble.

My wife and I just returned from a visit to Barcelona. We stayed at the Hotel Paral-lel and were recommended to go to Casa Roqueira for dinner. It is a local place and there was no problem getting in to eat. They have a large menu and everyone should be able to find something they like. The prices were very... More

Neighborhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
