This small restaurant was very close to our Airbnb, so we had dinner there our first night in Barcelona. My husband will eat just about anything but I'm kind of picky. We chose the seafood paella even though it contained mussels and clams, which I...don't eat. Well, I tried them and while I may never order them again, they didn't distract from a very good dinner. The portion was so large that it was enough for both of us to have for dinner the next night! Though there was a language barrier, the staff is friendly and helpful.More

It's a small but very good restaurant. The service is excellent, very kind people! We ordered mussels in wine, octopus with potatoes and mixed paella. Everything very delicious! They gifted coffee liquor, quite nice.

a very nice and very good fish but not only restaurant near the magic fontain. the paella , the sangria and the service provided by guillermo is superb. the price taking in account tge location and fish quality is more than reasonable. Reccomanded in particular...if you want to kill a hour and half before the magic fontain show.More

Hot, well prepared Spanish food, patient staff (with our 3 kids), convenient location after the Magic Fountains. My daughter could actually taste the different cheeses on her 3 cheese pizza and the grilled meats for two was generous enough for my husband and 2 other...kids. A White table cloths restaurant but worth the price, no food poisoning like 3 nights ago in an other restaurant closer to La Ramblas. Thanks for a great dinner.More

We had a lovely evening dinner drinking sangria and tasting paella and other traditional Spanish dishes in a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. The service was excellent and the staff were polite and friendly. Close to Placa d' Espanya, it is accessible with metro and buses....Overall, it is a very good suggestion to enjoy a traditional meal away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.More

Tucked away off the beaten track but you know the place must be good when you see just Spanish eating there! Ordered a platter of seafood....calamari, baby squid, similar fish to whitebait and green peppers. Outstanding freshness and filling. Service was good and clean inside.

I found this place through Yelp after walking aimlessly from Montjuic Castle. At this point, everyone was exhausted and we needed our first paella meal in Barcelona and low and behold, we found Portonovro. It is near the plaza ezpanya but tucked away in the...alley. They spoke a little bit of English and gave us an English menu and so we ordered paellas and I got the black paella. Very delicious meal! The best black paella I ate in Barcelona! We also had their sangria which was so rich and delicious! We are going to come back here again in September when we visit Barcelona!More

We came in on our first day in Barcelona after a late arrival and uncool AirBnB entry. They cooked a great late grilled dinner for us and set the stage for a great visit. We came back for our final final and tried their paella...and sucking pig. Our waiter Hassan and the entire staff remembered us and help make our last meal in Barcelona a wonderful experience.More
