We enjoyed a delicious lunch here. Bacala, grilled asparagus, avocado with tomato, calamari, sausage -- these were some of the highlights -- but we liked every dish we tried. Lots of variety. The spicing is quite mild but the food is fresh and the flavours...good. Service excellent. We also enjoyed seeing a large group (a film crew working in the area) -- they took such pleasure in the experience of being together that it added to our own pleasure. Nice fruity wine and dark beer.More

A local guide recommended Calle Blai as the place to go for authentic Pinxtos and Tapas. Blai Tonight looked the most inviting with a spectacular display of food and locals were eating there. And unlike many bars there was no 10% surcharge for eating outside....We had a beer (an excellent Barcelona brew) and contemplated which pinxtos to try. The waiter was very friendly and helpful in making our choice and when the chef brought out fresh supplies for the bar he proudly brought them to the tables. They were excellent (€1.20 and €1.90 each depending on size) and we soon had a glass full of toothpicks. Try this place first!More
Not recommended to visit this place at all. Go to tasqueta de blai literally 2 min down the same street. The pinxtos here were quite bland and had no taste. They also seemed like they were sitting there for quite some time.
Many of the restaurants on Carrer Blai have become awful, but this restaurant is a gem! Authentic and creative tapas of the highest quality at a good price. It's hard to find a tapas restaurant that matches this one!
We discovered this place on our goal of diversifying our choices for montaditas, and it quickly rose to the top of our list. The food is great and very imaginative. Try the grilled ribs if they come out, and the crab salad is wonderful. I...may go back one more time on this trip if I can fit it in!More
Nice place for drinks and pintxos! You go in, order a drink from the bar and ask for a plate. You get plates and a cup where you will collect the sticks. Then you collect as many pintxos as you like, if you want they...can also warm them up. In the end you give the cup and pay based on the amount of sticks (there is two kind of sticks meaning two prices). Quite cheap, we took 10 pintxos, 3 beers, 1 glass of wine and 1 cider and the whole thing was less than 30euros.More
On our second night in Barcelona, we went to wander up Blai street in the evening in order to try some of the cheap street foods we had heard were down there, starting at Blai Tonight. We dropped in here first because of the special...offer being advertised outside; that was €2 for 1 Pintxos and 1 small beer - perfectly reasonable prices. It's entirely self-service on the food: they give you a plate and you step up yourself to the bar and grab whatever you want, paying at the end based on how many toothpicks you give back for what you have eaten - with helpful signs everywhere reminding customers not to pocket the toothpicks as there are cameras watching.
They didn't offer to heat up the food here though, so it was cold Pintxos for us. We only noticed the sign saying that they would warm it up when we had nearly finished eating; every other place offered to warm them before we started, and considering this was the smallest bar we visited (food is only allowed inside, even though there is a large terrace on the street for drinks) that seemed a little weird. The best one here was probably the cod croquettes; the tortilla was decent but average, and the others were all good but nothing special. I thought that there were not enough cheese options compared to other places, but the special offer with beer made this place probably the most affordable one to go to that we tried, even though there was not much left at 22:00 or so when we arrived; this one closes a lot earlier than other places too. I would happily return to Blai street and do another Pintxos crawl for dinner again, and Blai tonight whilst not the best of them, was still a very good place to start.More

Hi there! If you come on friday or saturday, you will find many more different options to choose from. And yes, we usually tell our customers the chance to warm pinchos up, maybe they forgot to offer you that option.
There is just something I...More
