Somodo is a place we like to go to every time we visit Barcelona, which is every 6-8 weeks. It does what is really a tasting menu influenced by Catalan and Japanese cuisine about 8-9 courses for €35, which is tremendously good value for money given the quality of the food and the obvious care and detail in its presentation.... We had the tasting menu, and it was ok (nothing particularly special) but above all it was very slow serving. 2 hours and 15 minutes for the eight plates.

Excellent food lovingly prepared and presented. A fusion of styles. Small set menu for lunch with only a couple of choices but really worth it.

I went to this restaurant with some friends who really like Japanese food. In fact, this is a Japanese restaurant but totally different to the ones we are used in Spain. In this restaurant you won't find sushi or other Japanese specialties, they combine Japanese cooking with Mediterranean ingredients, and they do it very well. Once the surprise about not... More

This tiny restaurant in Barcelona city centre was a lovely surprise. They serve a set menu which offers courses of Spanish cuisine with an Asian twist. I enjoyed it all. They also have tasty whole bread with an olive oil dip. Go there, it's worth it.

Each dish is beautifully prepared. It is almost painful that the show is over too soon. You need to book well in advance to experience the art.

It's a real unique restaurant. Small, pleasant, placid, wonderful atmosphere. Lunch menu absolutely brilliant and very very tasty. Excellent cuisine. Japan with Catalunya, Asia with Mediterranean. Highly recommended. The chef is always looking around and explaining the clients the dishes. The experience was awesome. Will come back. i wish to taste the dinner menu.

The chef perfectly mastered the technique of these dishes. For the main menu, it consists of nine dishes / appetizer. the products are fresh, perfect cooking and details of assonement and breathtaking presention. We became complement fund of of this place and will return to Barcelona just for this restaurant. This chef deserves a Michelin star !!

Staying in Gracia

Neighborhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theater that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
