I can't say how the food was, because the service was so bad that we left the restaurant before we ate! When we arrived at the restaurant, 2-3 waiters went passed us without even greeting us, I found that usually a bit arrogant. I don't mind waiting a bit for a seat, but just acknowledge that we have arrived would... More

Barcelona is in general a very dog hostile place compared, for instance, to Italy. That many restaurants in Barcelona deny dogs access indoors is purely a choice of the restaurants which I fully accept. I therefore called this restaurant in advance to ask them if we could bring our (very friendly) dog inside the restaurant. They positively confirmed (after consulting... More

Great location on a busy square. The food was good but not excellent. The service was a little slow. The calamari received mixed reviews from our foursome. The green peppers and mussels were good. The hamburger was "okay" but we wouldn't order it again. The wine and beer were perfect choices.

A fantastic setting in Placa Reial with heaters by the outside seating which enable you to watch what is going on in the square. A very good choice of fish on the menu. My husband had turbot which was delicious and I had Sea Bass. Waiters not pushy and allowed us time to eat our meal without making us feel... More

So the location is very nice, right on the Plaça Reial. Sadly, it's not enough for a restaurant. We ordered gambas al ajillo ( shrimps in garlic sauce) and calamares fritos ( fried squid ). The gambas came with 3 little pieces of bread. We asked for some more bread, which was diligently brought by the waiter. The calamares were... More

We stopped for lunch and were very pleased with the quick and efficient service. We all had a burger which was unlike anything we had ever had before. It was open faced on flatbread...very good. It was lovely sitting outside in the sun, overlooking Placa Reial.

This is a great location on the corner of Plaza Reial, the outside tables are fantastic for watching the square. Service was attentive and incredibly quick and the food was excellent; we had sea bass and baby squid and were really impressed! Not expensive compared with other places around either.

We ate there on a saturday evening and where not disappointed: we had lobster and langustine crayfish and it was fantastic! Really fresh and perfectly seasoned. Also the starters and the desert was great. The service personel was very friendly and the ambience inside was very nice. There was a brilliant young man playing the piano and singing. We enjoyed... Description
In the heart of the Gothic neighbourhood on la Plaça Real, the Mariscco Reial restaurant is located in a Renaissance-style building dating back to 1850. This historic site has housed a diverse range of activity, such as the Gran Cafe Espanyol, and later the Pedagogic Museum of Natural Sciences and taxidermy workshop. Respecting the original architecture, Mariscco Reial offers the chance to dine inside a wide, open space, with high ceilings and eclectic scenery, or alternatively, outdoors under the Plaça Reial porticoes and the lamp posts designed by Gaudi. Mariscco Reial is open all-year-round, and boasts a cosmopolitan atmosphere, with a case of seafood and fish showcasing the delicacies available. Serving Mediterranean cuisine, Mariscco Reial serves high quality, fresh produce, which is prepared to the guest's taste. Specialities include rice with lobster sauce and prawn soup, or the climate-controlled cellar showcases a wide selection of wine.
