We really liked the look of this restaurant but having checked out the Trip Advisor reviews we nearly changed our minds about eating here. However, we went with our gut feeling about the place and cannot tell you how delighted we were that we ignored...More

I'm not someone who has particularly high standards when it comes to dining but I can honestly say the food is terrible here. The paella was like a soup with rice, an excessive amount of salt was in this paella and it had no taste...More

Paella tastes like gravy and rice. No flavor whatsoever. There were around 6 shrimps in the dish cut in half with basically only the shell left. It was as though they had taken the meat out to use in other dishes. Staff were extremely rude...More

Hit the tourist trap with this one. Really slow service with the exception of one waiter trying to cover for his unpleasant colleague, who obviously wasn't enjoyed herself. Had the Pasta frutti di mare, and the pasta came in big lumps, obviously the cook hadn't...More

For our last night in Barcelona we wanted to eat a paella at Plaça Reial. We chose Marisco. A former museum and taxidermist shop. With an impressive decor inside, a large room with metal beams and stones. We decided to sit on the terrace under...More

We did not enjoy any of the dishes we ordered. Beef ravioli tasted like over cooked pasta. Hardly can taste any beef. Seafood pasta barely had any seafood. Garlic shrimp was too salty.

This place has an excellent selection of seafood. A very wide range including all the Spanish classics. I ordered gilt head bream, a Mediterranean classic which was delicious. The prices and location are also ideal.

We had a table inside. The waitress was always in a hurry and didn't understand our requests. We got 1 rose wine that tasted like cork. We immediately asked to change it for a white wine and she brought again a rose. I asked again...More

In the heart of the Gothic neighbourhood on la Plaça Real, the Mariscco Reial restaurant is located in a Renaissance-style building dating back to 1850. This historic site has housed a diverse range of activity, such as the Gran Cafe Espanyol, and later the Pedagogic Museum of Natural Sciences and taxidermy workshop. Respecting the original architecture, Mariscco Reial offers the chance to dine inside a wide, open space, with high ceilings and eclectic scenery, or alternatively, outdoors under the Plaça Reial porticoes and the lamp posts designed by Gaudi. Mariscco Reial is open all-year-round, and boasts a cosmopolitan atmosphere, with a case of seafood and fish showcasing the delicacies available. Serving Mediterranean cuisine, Mariscco Reial serves high quality, fresh produce, which is prepared to the guest's taste. Specialities include rice with lobster sauce and prawn soup, or the climate-controlled cellar showcases a wide selection of wine.
