This was the second Indian restaurant I visited in Barcelona and I must say it was great. First impressions the ambience gives you an Indian feel. We ordered butter chicken, chicken biryani and dal and every thing was delicious especially after 15 days of pizza and tasteless food. We had Gulab jamun which is also very much recommended.

On a two week travel across multiple cities in Europe with an Indian group - one interesting feature was the attempt to have an indian meal every other day or atleast once in three. Rangoli was the first one that we visited in Barcelona (the group has two more, but thats for another review) We were served a lavish buffet... More

Perfect place for Mughlai food. Super authentic flavor. Super prompt service. Loved the interior, it added that spice to the ambience. Very innovative. I would call it The soul food experience. Dal Makhani, Makhani Paneer , Mixed Raita , Butter Paranthas and the Kulfi were superb. Lalli looked after us really well.

We try to visit an Indian restaurant in any new city. Rangoli came highly recommended from a couple of friends who had visited it on their trips. I am so glad we came- it was amazing food, especially the chana pindi. They have a sister restaurant in Ibiza called Mumak that we visited too. But this was much better. Service... More

Good food, a little different than the standard Indian food fare. Great location by the beach and good service. The naan was tandoori style and the portions were medium sized.

I am not adventurous with Indian food- having a korma as usual- but I was able to sample the range of food from my more adventurous companion. A very popular place as all tables were taken very quickly (we booked).

Facing the sea, Rangoli shares with its older brother - indian restaurant Bembì - the same concept of Indian food. Besides gathering all the virtues of his predecessor, Rangoli has a number of distinctive features: new and unique dishes, attractive decoration full of carefully chosen decorative pieces from India, a bar area where one can sip on a drink and, to top it all - a terrace with the Mediterranean view. Rangoli is the most ancient traditional decorative folk art of India and a symbol of religious and cultural beliefs. It is considered an important part of our spiritual tradition. Rangoli figures and patterns are colourful decorative designs on courtyards during Hindu festivals and is meant as a sacred welcoming area for the gods and guests. These ancient rituals have been passed on through the ages, from one generation to the next, thus keeping both the art form and the tradition alive. The purpose of rangolis is to bring good luck. We in Rangoli strive to present to you the culinary art of India which is as vibrant, traditional and colourful as a Rangoli and bring to you recipes which have transcended through generations. We welcome you to try the Rangoli experience!

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
