Having tried a very trendy expensive tapas bar for lunch which was very disappointing despite it's Michelin star (Dos Palillos) we went round the corner from our hotel this evening and had a great meal, fresh food, charming service and all we could ask for. Highly recommend.

We bumped into it as it was close to our accommodation. It was nice, I had paella and my friends had menù del dia, I tried the meat and it seemed great. The waiter seemed to be on his own but he was absolutely lovely. I would recommend this place!

We had two menu del dia 12.5€ each with starter dish, dessert and beer. It was good value but probably precooked food. Not the best restaurant in the area. Nice staff though !

we arrived on the late side just before 11p, worried they might not take us but the very cheerful young waitress showed us to a table. we knew from passing the restaurant earlier that we wanted the tasting menu (smartly displayed out front on a chalk board) and when we said we preferred no red meat, our waitress quickly offered... We chose this restaurant purely by location and by the look of the degustation menu posted on the board outside. We decided on the degustation menu and were not disappointed. Every dish was absolutely delicious and the meal was accompanied by a decent wine. We were served by one of the friendliest wait staff we have encounted. I simply could... More

We tried the degustation menu tonight. Six courses of very tasty and well presented food. ALL six courses were delicious. The duck/foie 'hamburger' was exceptional. Very friendly staff and great value for money. We will be back next time we are in Barcelona (next week actually :-)

We tried this restaurant in the Example area (close to Universitat metro station) by chance without any previous information. We were welcomed by the owner, a very friendly woman. The restaurant is ample and confortable with a good menu with plenty of choice, excellent food (they were so kind to prepare a paella for one although the menu stated minimum... More

Description
Vinilo is a recently opened restaurant and lounge bar in the Eixample district, one of the most sought-after “barrios” in Barcelona. The international and creative menu includes dishes such as magret of duck with peach and tomato chutney and red berry salsa, or various types of meat, fish or vegetable brochettes, with something for everyone. Vinilo is divided into two separate areas – the restaurant, with a relaxed but contemporary feel, while the funky lounge bar is styled in black and white, with matching retro furniture. Diners can enjoy a night cap until the early hours of the morning.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
