Stopped by for a late dinner and was a little disappointed with the meal. The choice was good but when it arrived the portions were too bog for the children to eat and the Paella was too salty for our taste. This led to a lot of waste at the end of the meal. Was not as good value as... More

Five months later we're STILL laughing about the two, absolutely delicious, huge orange-colored sangrias we drank at Tapa Apat. We were strolling down Las Ramblas when we saw them at an outdoor table of two diners. We were thirsty and ready to sit, so we plopped down and ordered two. We're huge fans of sangria, and I often make them... More

I didn't think quick enough as to why their drinks and charges are not on the menu!! Good was okay but just okay. Tourist trap rip off! Be warned. Better places to eat along that stretch.

Went to las ramblas in the evening and was starving by the time I got to the end. The idiots manning the tables for the other restaurants wouldn't give me a table even though there were multiple free tables because those were for two people, not one. This place was quieter in comparison and so they let me dine alone.... More

We visited Tapa i Apat in December 2014 on our first trip to Barcelona with another couple. We were staying on the Ramblas and had just flown in when we ate here so we didn't really look very far for a good deal as we were starving. This restaurant, like others on the Ramblas, was pretty pricey but the food... More

What a mistake. This place is a total tourist trap. Perhaps the worst Paella we have ever tasted. Do yourself a big favor and explore the many side streets off of La Rambla. You will find wonderful culinary treasures galore. Just not here.

Was out for a day in Barcelona, decided to pop in here for a quick drink. Asked for menu, was told no menu, but as we only wanted a drink ordered anyway. The price of the bill was ludicrous, obviously why they give no menus so you don't check prices before ordering. Queried price but was told all places in... More

Food fair to good but rude, abrupt unfriendly service made this one of my worst European experiences. With my limited Spanish , I attempted some pleasantries but not well received . Overheard derisive comments about Americans from staff, maybe us, maybe not. Bring a very good sense of humor if you need to eat here.

We decided to eat here on our last afternoon in Barcelona. We had a table outside on Las Ramblas, watching the world go by. When my wife asked for a small beer, we were told they only had the "Cuppola" - i.e. large and pricey but we went for it as it was an anniversary treat. We were offered bread... More

Staying in La Rambla

Neighborhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-meter boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetizing selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
