This was another Barcelona restaurant that was highly recommended and we felt was average. Would recommend it if convenient to your hotel or day activities. Would not make a special trip for this restaurant.

We got tipped from a friend who'd lived in Barcelona for 10 years and yes: Bar Del Pla serves excellent food for a very reasonable price. The downside is that this bar is a victim of its own succes, and I felt a bit like just one more tourist to get money from. Bar Del Pla would do well with... More

We were recommended this place by a friend so six of us visited here in May. You might walk by without thinking of going in but it really is a must. The service is excellent and the staff know a great deal about each dish. The food is excellent, with a variety of tapas on offer. The food was excellent... More

We stumbled across Bar del Pla one evening after some seriously disappointing tapas elsewhere, and so glad we did. This place is a total and utter gem - so much so that after eating the first time, we booked for dinner the following evening. The food is absolutely fantastic, with some classics on the menu - done perfectly - along... More

Friendly service and the crispy oxtail was delicious. The ox-chin is also recommended. We had a short stop for a.round of beer and tapas, would definitely recommend a visit for anyone in the area.

Our family of 5 really enjoyed this place. The food was very good but the service was even better. Our wait staff was very attentive and willing to suggest great menu items as well as wine selections. Highly recommend!

Thank Pete N

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
