I came here twice for lunch - the second time because I enjoyed it so much. The lunch deal is great here - a glass of wine, two dishes, and dessert for 11 euros. Definitely come here for an inexpensive yet delicious experience!

What a find in the back streets of Barcelona - blink and you'd miss it! Simple local food served with friendly attentive staff. We had unusual starters Mashed egg, spicy cured cod (not together) followed by saddle of goat to share which was fantastic. This was a special meal fit for a special occasion. POINT TO NOTE - THEY DO... More

Arrived without a booking early on a Wednesday evening and quickly seated. Attentive waiting staff who explained the dishes well. Had a salad (goats cheese and pear) which was excellent followed by 3 dishes which we shared - cerviche, smashed eggs with chorizo and a pizza type dish with pork and cheese - all delicious Service was good and unobtrusive... Another awesome little lunch stop if you are in the area, a tiny little restaurant in the corner of a square near the bottom of the hill. Great food and service. Heartily recommended.......ring ahead to book if you can......doesn't need to be days in advance but we rang from the bottom of the Teleferic before making the 10 minute walk... More

A lovely small restaurant near Montjusic. We had one of our best meals here and the wait staff (brothers) were so helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I was last at this restaurant last year. Since then it has had a makeover. Gone is the weird heavy gothic feel and replaced by a more relaxed and more classical style. They have got rid of their original entrance and turned it into a small but comfortable veranda, so you can be inside but feel like you are outside.... More

A superb restaurant a bit off the beaten track in Pobel Sec. Staff were brilliant, making recommendations for local Catalan dishes, all freshly made, all of which were superb and very, very tasty. Weird but wonderful decor too. Staff spoke impecable English and were very friendly. Highly recommended!

I discovered the place after strolling around the Montjiuc hill. The plaza was welcoming and I got a table outside . The service was friendly and the recommended starter (potatoes with egg and bacalao) a nice treat, the Dorada fish unfortunately sold out and the catch of the day took its time and was ordinary. Anyway a very friendly waiter... More

We had the plat due jour twice it was that good (10€+drink) The pan fried trout as a main was the freshest fish I've tasted. Chavi, our waiter was the nicest, most attentive guy you could meet. Full of advice and truly in love with Barcelona - then again, who isn't. There was so much on the menu that we've... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
