Great food... service could be faster

Had dinner here with friends on holiday. Nice looking restaurant and friendly staff. The portion sizes are impressive and my food tasted amazing. Only negative was the slow service between courses which I didn't understand as the restaurant was not busy. The food was worth the wait though.

This restaurant is located on the ground floor of hotel W in an area which is merely seperated from the reception hall and the bar behind it. Although it is nice to look at, the noise of the reception hall is overwhelming. Maybe this was the result of a congress that was taking place where the conference hall was right... More

My daughter, son and I have had the BEST experiences at the Wave! We liked the cozy atmosphere in the evenings with all the pretty lights. In the daytime, it was bright and airy. I appreciated the clean and polished silverware, glassware, etc. The breakfast had a lovely variety and we loved the pastry selection and the meats and cheeses.... More

We really enjoyed our visit to the Wave Restaurant this week, staff were excellent and really attentive, food was brilliant and good value for money. The restaurant interior was modern and spacious with outstanding views over the beach and ocean.

The tapas selection .. not such a great choice as it is combined: ensaladilla rusa, “bomba” barceloneta, meatballs with cuttlefish, iberian pork and apple brochette, grilled vegetables with sardines. Too much happening on that plate ... :) It is a matter of taste, of course. Not my cup of tea. Main dish tasty, flavoured and well presented - GRILLED OCTOPUS... More

We had the Tasting Menu and I would say that everything was really good. The quality of the products and the service added value to the soiree.

The breakfast assortment was really good and omelettes excellent. The problem we had was with the servers- it was like no one wanted to take an order. One morning we asked for cappuccinos, and they never came- when I asked the server he literally said, "yeah, yeah, yeah"....and still never brought them. It was like no one wanted to be... More

I had my dinner here to celebrate my bday . The food was just soso and a bit pricy with this quality . The Seabass was ok , but the scallop risotto was too salty . The berries frites was good. Overall I think the service and environment is ok but recommend this place for drink rather than food .

Excellent breakfast and service: good quality food, lots to choose from and good value. You can sit overlooking the sea and onto the terrace. Service good too.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
