All the paellas along the Poblenou Rambla seemed overpriced compared to the more 'central' Barcelona restaurants, so we decided to try La Roda which was rather busy. The paella was good but not the best we've had. Very small prawns which needed de-heading for very little meat...left our fingers tinged yellow for a couple of days afterwards! This definitely hasn't... More

Unfortunately we didn't check TripAdvisor before dining at this restaurant on our last night in Barcelona. From the outside it looked authentic and inviting, but sadly the staff were rude and the food was well below average. We tried various different dishes, the most memorable was the croquettes that where still frozen in the middle. I informed the waiter and... More

This restaurant in the Poblenou Ramblas area of Barcelona Was great value - excellent service and really delicious Catalan cuisine. A lovely spot to sit and people watch. Food was really well presented and the red wine with the Tapas meal was excellent. A refreshing change from the very overpriced city restaurants Relaxing and friendly. Would happily return.

There are so many restaurants to choose from here. We got lucky. The food was great, atmosphere was great, the server was very friendly. The owner even sent a free round of drinks. The way we where treated was like we ate there every Friday night.

This place was rather a snack corner than restaurant. We ordered a mixed grill for two persons. And indeed, It was a mix of rotten and burned food. The waiter seemed to be drunk and it is no suprise that I wouldn't recommend this excuse for a restaurant to any of my friends.

My daughter and I stumbled into this place while on vacation here recently. The wait staff was truly friendly and family oriented. Very accommodating. The menu was excellent, with lots of delicious things to try. Overall, I just loved the atmosphere. If you are ready to simmer down for the night with a quiet (But not too quiet) dinner, and... I sort of lucked out in finding this place. It was just around the corner from the hotel and it was more or less the first place that looked decent - decent enough that I went back again. I had the grilled lamb chops and chips - all well cooked and well served. There is no pretention here: it is... More

Okay food served in a rather kitsch setting. Service is good (by European standards) and ingredients seem genuine... Tapas seem better than main courses.

Staying in Poblenou

Neighborhood Profile
The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centers catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.
