Thanks Make My Day (lonely planet) for the tip; this is a terrific though unassuming place with exceptional food, evidently much patronised by locals. One of our best meals in Barça, topped off when Silvio introduced us to his favourite Galician digestif.

Warm welcome, great service, quality tapas and one to return to again and again. My husband and I were new to the Tapas culture of Spain and delighted in tasting the variety of mouthwatering dishes that were on offer. It is a wonderful way to experiment with the wide ranging cuisine offered in the different regions of Spain.

I took my mum here for our last meal in Barcelona together and we loved everything about the place. It has a wonderful ambience (especially at night time) and the staff are incredibly attentive and helpful. Our server, Ingrid, humoured me in speaking Catalan and was both patient and made some great suggestions to change my dish to make it... More

Great place if you want to try traditional tapas served in a modern way. Also nice for a drink. Wonderful interior.

With reviews in the Lonely Planet and only walking distance from our hotel we visited this very hospitable cafe several times during our Barcelona stay. Laura and her team were always excellent and this was one of the more memorable moments of our stay. We absolutely loved the Fried hot green salted Padron peppers, which shriveled when fried but such... More

The ambience is wonderful, with string lights and beautiful decor, especially on a rainy day. The cappuccino was one of the best I have had when traveling! Unfortunately, the food left some things to be desired: the pulpo was over seasoned, with the pepper overwhelming the rest of the tastes. I am sad to not give this a higher rating,... More

Enough people to create an ambience, quiet jazz, comfortable surrounds, very good coffee and pastries. Easy! Having seen the other reviews may come back for a meal.

We went for dinner here on our first night as we were staying nearby and it was recommended in Lonely Planet. We sat inside and were immediately shown to our table despite being a bit early for our reservation. The staff were very attentive and most spoke very good English. Sylvio from Brazil was very nice and even brought us... More

I've eaten at Casa Delfín many times now, and it exemplifies a trend that is all too prevalent in Barcelona: they offer good-to-great food (the kitchen staff obviously know what they're doing) but it's served by people who are all too often incompetent. Why dedicate so much time and money on training your kitchen staff and buying quality ingredients when... More

Dear LHS3, Please accept our apologies for errors during the service on Saturday night. We would never want to make excuses but we were less staff than usual due to unforeseen circumstances; running a restaurant dining room is a little like being on stage and sometimes you can have a difficult night when all the pieces don´t come together in... Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
