I visited this restaurant years ago and I decided to come back with the family to celebrate a birthday. It's amazing!!! We were very well served by all the waiters, and we enjoyed all the dishes we asked: seaweed salad, shrimp tempura, fried rice, black cod, toro tataki, eel nigiris and the sushi in general. Summarizing, this is probably the... More

We had lunch for the second time here. Superb Japanese cuisine. What more is there to say? It's the best!

Koy Shunka is an extraordinary good restaurant. Modern fusion with strong Japanese roots. Fine dining in Barcelona. Sorry tapas, you lost the race. We would recommend any foodie to stop by and get inspired.

Koy Shunka is the best Japanese restaurant in Barcelona and for sure one of the best in Europe. Compared with Japan, it would be also at very high level in the ranking. Hideki Matsuhisa started at Shunka high quality japanese cuisine and sushi/sashimi before to open Koy Shunka. He is accompanied by a team of loyal assistants and the quality... More

Stopped in solo for a bite because this was by my hotel and I needed sushi. Little did I know this was Michelin starred (next time, research!). Fortunately was dressed for the part and they found a spot for me (even though sushi bar was full). Amazing food and experience even though I was a solo fish out of water... More

Make a reservation on the bar. The chef makes the rolls in front of you. The best option is the gastronomic menu. The flavors are excellent.

I went to Koy Shunka with high expectations. We didn't want to eat the big tasting menu and decided to go for the a la carte menu. The menu was explained very well by our waiter and he helped us making a selection, witch was very good. Here I can highlight the scallop and red prawns in tempura witch was... More

One of the best meals I've ever had and the highlight of my trip to Barcelona. Definitely make sure to sit at the bar. It's incredible watching all the work that goes into every dish. The chefs who prepare your dishes also present them to you and describe the dishes. Everything was really delicious and original. Just a great experience... More

I would not compare it with zuma london or nobu hongkong, but it is coming close to them. in barcelona we have tried most japanese, and according to our humble opinion this is the best there is,which does not mean you should not go here...GO ! it is really good,go for the tasting menu.

Our expectations were high but unfortunately the restaurant couldn't fulfill them. The ingredients are very fresh, the service is good, the open kitchen a surplus but we personally didn't find it as good as described. Price is also too high for the experience offered.
