We (family of 4) ordered burger, chicken wings, ribs and pulled pork. ALL was execelent and especially the ribs were sublime. Indeed recommendable and even at a very affordable price level. We paid arround 60 EUR in total including drinks (beer and soda). Highly recommendable place to visit if you are up for a really great burger-experience in Barcelona. And...you... More

Visited with 16 other lads on a stag weekend and went in for the recovery brunch. We didn't have much to recover from - yet - but the very un-Spanish menu still offered a delightfully fresh take at good value. The spinach smoothie was particularly recommendable and both the massive club toasts as well as the omelettes left everyone satisfied.

Booking a table was very straightforward. Lovely atmosphere with swift service. The food and cocktails were reasonably priced and delicious.

The eggs florentine with a smoothie followed by coffee were exactly what we needed after a late night. There's a cool atmosphere inside albeit a little bit on the dark side - I'm sure it would look great in the evening though.

There are restaurants everywhere in Barcelona. Most are small "mom and pop" restaurants with five to fifteen tables. Marmalade is different. We asked out tour guide for a nice restaurant for a special night out and this was it. There is a bar area and a lounging area with couches, etc. We were surprised that the menu included burgers and... More

Popped in for a birthday cocktail without booking. Lucky to get a table as fairly busy at 9pm. Really nice cocktails and at a reasonable price unlike other bars nearby. No one harassing people to come. Nice relaxed vibe and beautiful interior. Would've been OK in jeans or shorts but glad we had dressed up for birthday drinks - didn't... More

If you are in the mood for the best brunch in Barcelona with no wait served by the best looking waiters in Spain then this is the place to go ;-). My husband and I went here for brunch a couple of days after having brunch in their sister restaurant Milk, as I was craving their huevos rancheros and we... More

Riccardo went the extra mile to accommodate me and my girlfriend after we booked to turn up just as the kitchen was closing. The food came out instantly as he let me email the order across to beat the closing time, meaning that he had the kitchen staff cook it with good faith that we would actually turn up, which... More

Description
Marmalade, the new bigger sister of the now famous “Milk Bar & Bistro” would be better recognized by its nome de plume “Muebles Navarro”. This beautiful space is split into four distinct areas and nods its head to its 50 years as a furniture store, with beautiful sofas, Queen Anne style chairs, hand carved black matte billiard table, copper clad antique walls and of course the four meter tall chrome art deco bar back. This has given Marmalade a swinging 1950’s Havana/New York edge. Colour, material, and light draw you in and help you slip from the outside world. Our Head Chef has created a wonderful International menu combining flavours from his tenures in restaurants across Spain, Germany and America, using locally selected produce purchased daily from the Boqueria market . The menu changes seasonally. Dining is both casual and fun with many of the plates to be shared amongst our dining guests.Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday we have our famous American style brunch which has been embraced by both locals and tourists. Not to be missed. Marmalade has a significant cocktail list with a legendary cocktails from €5.00. Staff create fabulous original concoctions with great flavours. Marmalade has a large bar at which every kind of cocktail and delicious combination can be savoured.Laidback house and lounge music, easygoing friendly service and at times a humorous attention to detail all help to create the sense of a bar and restaurant that’s cool without ever trying too hard; instead there’s the sense of a single vision that has come together beautifully to create somewhere with real character. The element that makes Marmalade a place overflowing with personality is that all the items of décor have been specially designed and constructed for the local. Thanks to an imaginative effort to seek innovative materials, elements and colours, Marmalade has succeeded in bringing the past and future into the present. Marmalade has a warm, professional and cosmopolitan wait staff. Catalans and foreigners are waited upon attentively at the tables and even when the house is full there is always someone in attendance, since service is the philosophy underlying this bar and restaurant. The clientele pick up momentum as night descends. The staff also have a great knowledge of Barcelona and its hidden treasures, so be sure to ask what is on offer. It is truly a great meeting place to start an unforgettable vacation in a city that is second to none.Considered one of the most desirable event locations in Barcelona. Marmalade is a magnificent space that’s both grand (300 sqm & 4.5 meter tall ceilings) yet intimate with four separate seating areas. It also has outside dining with 32 seats and 8 tables. Providing an upscale backdrop for virtually all types of events. Conveniently located 5 minutes from Las Ramblas and with a privileged location above the top of La Rambla del Raval; this space can accommodate up to 225 guests for cocktails and small plates and 100 guests for seated dinner. Marmalades star has truly risen and it has become one of the neighborhoods’ hottest spots. It is a reference point for any visit to Barcelona. WOW!!!

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
