Small, traditional bar with only 4-5 simple dishes on their menu and excellent red, white and rose wine directly from the barrel. Nothing fancy, only the joy of simple, well prepared, home-made style food, wine, beer and loud, joyful conversation. The bar is very popular...More

2.9-ish euros for a little plate of delicious little freshly fried fish. Nice guy and nice locals also sitting in the area. We went around 10:30am so it was a really chilled atmosphere. We tasted the vermouth too which was lovely.

The menu is seasonal and they keep it simple, only a few items offered at a time. Mainly anchovies on the night I visited but I love them so I was in heaven. Tomato toast, sausage on tomato toast, marinated anchovy fillets with olives, fried...More

I wandered upon this place during my first night in Barcelona in the Gothic Quarter. It was what I envisioned an authentic old school tapas bar to be. Everything I had was exceptional. It will be the meal I will most remember from my trip...More

We found La Plata due to a recommendation from our friends who live here. The menu is limited to 5 tapas dishes, my personal favourites were the sausage on bread and the fried whitebait! The restaurant is very casual and small with only a few...More

I was a little reticent about trying this place, since it been mentioned by Bourdain and others. Nevertheless, I am happy that I decided to give it a try. They offered simple, tasty, and very affordable tapas, in a very comfortable atmosphere. (It really felt...More

I read about this place in a Rick Steves guide book and immediately tracked it down. Was very busy when I got there-- nowhere to sit. However, I have vivid memories of chowing down on whole fried sardines while standing on a cobblestone street at...More

Small shop but the food was very tasty. Everything we tried was good. Like most restaurants here, they only open for certain time. So plan for it.

This is a small local bar, only about 5 or 6 tables- I would take a 14 year old there. It is just tapas and cold beer and wine. Delicious deep fried fish ! Usually frequented by locals and walking groups.
