I had much higher hopes for this restaurant. The wine pairings were mostly not great (but were odd) although it was clear they have an excellent cellar and I thought it was overrated and overpriced for what it was. I have no problems spending this...kind of money for a great meal but in comparison to other excellent restaurants in Barcelona, it fell short. A wonderful experience and ambiance thoughMore

We visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening. The setting was lovely, understated elegance overlooking the marina and very quiet. Service was impeccable- attentive but not intrusive. After looking at the menus, we decided on the tasting and wine pairing. Everything worked well and appreciated...some adventurous and unexpected wine selections that focused primarily on the nearby Penedes region. Overall,a solid menu and enjoyable experience.More

We last dined here about 4 years ago. Since then the menu has evolved and the wine list is MUCH better, with a new sommelier. Service was very good throughout our meal. We selected the seasonal tasting menu for Autumn. Three os the four amuses...were very good, but one was rather plain. The first few seafood courses were all tasty. The crayfish course was very savory, because of the mushrooms, and thus would have been better with the red wine we selected. The next course, sole, was well-prepared, but definitely a white wine course. Unfortunately, we had finished our white with the previous course :-(. If the two courses were served in the opposite order, or if the sommelier had opened the red wine one course earlier, our experience would have been much better. The squab course was very nice, as were the desserts. The chef elected to not serve any bread with the meal. There were several great sauces that we would have loved to absorb with a nice Tuscan bread, as we did the prior night at another 2-star (Disfrutar). Overall, I was less impressed by this 2-star meal vs. Disfrutar. I also was shocked when the bill was presented and we learned that the prices did not include service- this is a rarity in Europe, and the added 20% on the food and wine was significant.More

Sadly, I have reached out twice via email to the management since I ate at Enoteca Paco Perez, and have received no response. I do believe that feedback should be given in private, and if nothing is resolved, then in public. Alas maybe this way,...I'll get a response from the restaurant. -- Original complaint -- Me, and 5 other friend visited Enoteca in August for a friend's wedding celebrations, and food aside, the whole experience was dismal. It was 15 minutes after being sat down before one of had to ask for even a glass of water. Literally not a single member of staff came to our table to ask a single thing. No menus. Nothing. Asking for water seemingly annoyed the waiter, and it was another 5 minutes before we saw anyone again. Unfortunately, this put everyone in a bad mood, but the calamities continued. Our glasses were empty more often than not, at once left empty for 15 minutes before we were topped up. We had to continually ask for more wine and when we did get orders in, it took 15-20 mins with no drinks. Normally I'd go get the bottle myself, but we chose to be in a restaurant known for service. We chose to spend €200 on dinner each. And as such, we expected to be treated that way. If your staff don't like pouring wine, then it's fine, but leave the bottles on the table. Also, if I wanted to be jumping up and down every 5 minutes, I'd have gone to the gym, or a buffet. Now, I don't know if six 30 year old men is your usual clientele, but it did really feel like your staff didn't want to serve us. Apart from one woman (Susanna), nearly everyone was useless. We had to ask for everything multiple times, knives, butter, bread, wine. We had a vegetarian with us, who when asked what he likes, explicitly said no mushrooms. But was later served a plate of rice laden with the dastardly little things. You'd have to be an expert at Super Mario to navigate that dish. I eat regularly in Michelin starred restaurants, I work very closely with the Joel Robuchon guys, I'm working with Michelin on an event later this year, and I'm a Marriott Platinum guest. So in case you assume that I just don't know how things are done, I'll squash that train of thought. As I don't like complaining, the food itself was impeccable, and was as expected. Although one of the vegetarian options; a plate of asparagus pointing at the ceiling for €60 was a bit much. We argued as a group as to how much of a tip should be left. I'm a keen believer of 10-15%, but honestly, last night your guys deserved nothing. When the bill came, there was also confusion as to whether Marriott Elite guests get 20% off. It was immediately confirmed as true by one member of staff, who when went to ask and said if only applies to in-room dining, which I know not to be true. I later found out that Paco Perez doesn't participate in the 20% off, which is fine. But educate your bloody staff. Sadly, this is one restaurant I won't revisit.More

I can't remember what bad reasons I had for not being sure about trying this restaurant, but I am happy to say I was sorely mistaken and very glad I took the chance. My evening at Enoteca started fabulously. I was a guest at the...hotel and I guess they must have communicated with the restaurant when I asked its location because as I arrived, I was greeted by my name without having to introduce myself, and taken to my reserved table. I was travelling solo, and the reservation was for 1, and the staff made sure not to ask the typical "will there be someone joining you" that I've heard at many restaurants (it's an odd presumption that one cannot enjoy a good meal by oneself). Staff was very polite and professional, but indulged in a tiny bit of friendly chatting with me when the situation required it (couple of questions here and there about the preparation or origin of a dish, comments about accents, or a brief chat regarding the propriety of drinking sweet wines). I went straight to the tasting menu, with no pairing, and let the chef and staff guide me through a medley of excellently designed dishes. The food was absolutely fantastic, basically a modern and very upscale take on Barcelona's Mediterranean cuisine. The execution of the plates was phenomenal, the flavours delicate and balanced, and the presentation very attractive. Needless to say, quality of the ingredients was top notch. The food was so spectacular that my whole attention was dedicated to it and I had completely forgotten how the restaurant actually looked like until I saw the pictures before writing this review. As an exception (since I rarely ever drink), given how much I had enjoyed my meal, I allowed the sommelier to recommend me two dessert wines, one white, one red, to pair with the two desserts. I was happily surprised to find myself not only appreciating the wines but actually enjoying and relishing them. I like trying various Michelin restaurants when visiting a city, and Barcelona has plenty to offer, but I honestly can't wait to bring my fiancé to Enoteca Paco Perez, even if that means missing the chance to try a new restaurant.More

I don't think so but if you go in a t-shirt and flip flops, you will feel out of place! When we went, a suit but no tie seemed fine.
