Excellent ambience, food and service. What else can you ask for?... To be a little cheaper but it doesn't have to. Price is according to the quality of the restaurant. I didn't have the impression to be served with the best food I've ever tried but it was really close and their pan tomaquet was probably the best experience I've... More

Nice atmosphere, good service, good food, good taste. We ate several corquetes, Patas Brava, Aroz Bacalla Colifor/Negre and an Entrecot. The house wine is a good one too! We had nothing to complain and will come back!

I'm a New Yorker who owns a flat on the block adjacent to this restaurant. It was my permanent address for 10 years but since returning to New York in 2008 I now spend 1 of every 3 months in Barcelona. This restaurant is definitely tops in the neighborhood and rivals anything all over town for an authentic catalan meal... More

It was the best gastronomic experience I have ever had. The Mediterranean cousine is the best and the service is perfect. I strongly recommend the dinner.

Excellent relation of quality and price. Small atmospheric family run restaurant which has always been busy on our several visits. Call then and book a place to avoid disappointment.

The place was recommended to us by a local for their Paella. What a gem! A family place away from tourists with the least expensive and best food we had so far in Barcelona. Great paella but superb cod cakes and grilled calamari as well as a cream Catalana to die for. Try to reserve as the place is not... More

I know this restaurant for a long time and never have been disappointed, all the contrary. I love to go there and order whatever I wish or am suggested, because everything is very, very good. The wine list is also very good, and above all, Ivan's savoir faire makes your stay very pleasant. I always take there my friends who... More

Highly recommended. The food is good quality and the prices are very reasonable. Especially nice sat outside with a cold beer while you watch the world go by.

My wife and I were walking around Barcelona on Christmas Eve and were not having much luck finding a place that was open for lunch. Luckily she saw a quick bit of movement in one of the windows. We took a closer look and noticed that El Raco was full of locals enjoying a meal. We grabbed one of the... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
