We were invited by friends over dinner, in the beginning I thought it is a touristic restaurant similar to their neighbors but surprisingly it was very good. You must try the fried sardines as well as the bouyabaise soup and for sure try the paella sea food and if you like try the black paella. Food is really good.

I went with my family last night, our last night in Barcelona. The restaurant seemed nice, but when we read the prices our eyes popped out. We ordered a couple of paellas with shrimps. One had NO shrimps at all, the other one had 3 of those. We complained to the manager but instead of giving us a respectful response,... More

We were a big group of 20 and we went there for lunch. I had really fresh and tasty oysters, but also had a taste of several other dishes which tasted fresh and fragrant. And of course, we had great paella and sangria. The only negative was the rather impersonal service, but this may be due to the fact that... More

We wandered along the seafront looking for somewhere for Sunday lunch. The menu looked good & lots of reservations on the tables here made me thing it was a popular venue to visit, rather than just walk ins. We had a lovely bottle of róse-picked out by the waiter. A good salad & anchovies to start, then lovely monkfish with... More

In the Port Vell area of Barca, I found this one on the internet and 'got lucky'! It isn't cheap but excellent food and wine, and good service. One of the best meals I've had in Spain

We visited this restaurant 5 times in the week stayed in Barcelona. The Tenderloin steak is melt in the mouth, Paella fantastic, and the sharing platter of grilled shell fish is worth the money. I particularly liked the cream parcels for sweet. The staff are very friendly, efficient, they remembered that I like butter with my rolls each night, did... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
