Well located the place attracted mostly tourists not afraid of the chines staff which looks strange in a classic Spanish tavern...

We lined up for about 20 minutes, very busy place. We ordered several tapas and most were good, a couple were not. I wish we had a bit more knowledge as to what the specialties were. It is worth a try though.

We go there at least twice a week when we are here, the prawns are fresh and delicious various ways - grilled is best. My husband loves the beef stick with cafe de Paris sauce and the hamburgers which are tiny and delicious. The small bread sticks of local bread and the iberico ham is fabulous, and daily they have... We wanted a rustic authentic tapas experience for a light lunch near Casa Batllo. We selected Ciudad Condal based on Tripadvisor reviews. We checked it out in the morning. There was a real buzz about the place and it was obviously very popular so we made sure we arrived early for lunch (very wise given the queue for tables when... More

A friend recommended we try Ciudad Condal while in Barcelona. Great recommendation, this is a classy - busy - happening Tapas bar. Grab a seat at the bar or head into one of the many dining areas on different levels. We had never seen such an assortment of Tapas, seafood, meats, everything. A mixture of traditional and modern Tapas. The... More

This is still a great experience. The food is excellent, the atmosphere buzzing. We ate one night at the bar and loved the tapas and beers. The next night we sat down inside. Service the second time not great but the food still excellent. Long queue for tables if your arrive after 630pm, but in our view worth it.

As a local, when deciding which restaurant to have tapas is good in a tourist area of Barcelona is an adventure. But this one I would repeat; the service was very nice and the variety of choices on the manu was perfect. The tapas were very good and the quality of the product was great.

Recommend the ham, potato bravas, gambas al ajillo, the mini hamburgers are amazing.... Actually try it all. We stayed 5 days and ate here 3 of them. Very recommended! Be prepared to wait at least 20 mins.

One of the best/popular tapas restaurant… Because of the warm weather we preferred to sit outside, while waiting an available table, we joyful drink sangria… The service is quick and the waiters are very friendly… As we sat outside, no one complained about the cigars… The food was delicious, the wine was silky… We enjoyed every moment… Complimentary Orujo helped... We were looking for a cute restaurant to have good tapas around the city and within walking distance from our hotel. A short walk took us directly to this very busy restaurant. We did have to wait a moment to get a table, but the air was worth it. The sangria was AMAZING!!!! The best sangria we have ever had.... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
