We went here on a recommendation from a good friend....lauded as the best tapas bar in Barcelona. It lives up to its claim and was exceptional in all aspects. I must note that this is no secret so plan accordingly....we had to wait one hour for a table. We expected to wait for every order we made, because this place... More

We went here based on a local recommendation for lunch. It was packed with tourists and locals alike. Had tapas -- sardines two ways, potatoes bravas, octopus on bed of potatoes, etc. Reasonable prices. Would recommend when near Plaza de Catalunya. Busy place, high turnover, we waited about 15 minutes for a table to empty. The bar area is also... More

Ciudad Condal has it all: Great Tapas, great pinchos, good wines. Add fair prices, great location (close to tons of other bars/ restaurants, major shopping and Placa Catalunya) and being a fantastic venue itself. Oh, it also has a queue where you have to line up for asking for a table and sometimes need to wait 1.5 hours for being... More

Very fond memories of the great Tapas bar. Lots of choice and reasonably priced. Browsing the selection of montadito's made freshly in front of you, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. A must for anyone in the area, just a 5min walk from Pl. de Catalunya.

You usually succeed when you get a local to recommend a place. We just arrived in Barcelona and went out to this place, quite late at night. It is crowded, noisy, but the service is fine and the food is very nice

This is a fairly well known restaurant already with very good reviews. Therefore I will only add a few points I feel worth mentioning. I recommend eating at the bar, even if there is a wait. At the bar, the portion sizes are more flexible; the tortilla (not Mexican variety) is served whole at the table but one can have... More

Super crowded restaurant serving good reasonably priced tapas and pinchos, if you go later near the Spanish people"s dinner time (after 9) the queue can be quite long. Loved the grilled Spanish peppers, baby octopus deep fried in batter. A lovely restaurant to go for good Spanish fare...

It is really hard to get a table. But the wait is worthy. A huge selection of local tastes. With no miss. Everything fresh and pleasing senses. Solid selection of wine by the glass. Amazing grilled peppers. Hams and seafood to remember. Loud and vibrant ambience around. Go with friends. Laugh and celebrate.

We asked in our hotel if they could advise us about where to find good tapas and this place was the recommendation. I expected an over priced sort of place and to be fair it was fine. We struggled a bit with the menu as we were not sure what to do for the best? Eventually we settled for the... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
