I visit Maitea every year since 2013 as I visit the city for business. The food remains great with great variety of tapas and pinchos. the place is cozy and the staff very friendly and helpful. during busy hours you must book in advance because it gets really full. the prices are normal. not too cheap, not too expensive, especially... As an American who prefers to eat at 7, I appreciate that you can get their whole menu before 8:00. A good not-fancy place to grab a drink and a quality snack

Tipical Basque Country tavern (Sant Sebastian origin) where you can enjoy too many cooked and also fresh delicious pintxos like Spanish "tortilla", "xistorra" and so on. You can also order bigger portions. Really nice quality and normal prices. Enjoy also typical white wine named txacoli.

Heard about this restaurant from Andrew Zimmern TV show. Took a taxi here from hotel for late lunch on a Sunday. Few people were eating since we were past lunch and too early for dinner (great hour). Food was absolutely delicious. Lots of tapas choices and main dishes. My roasted lamb was the best that I have ever eaten. Will... More

Close to our apartment and recommended by T/A we checked it out for supper. Great staff, very helpful, and friendly - excellent food and generous portions, a constant parade of hot tapas hard to say no at every turn. Recommend it ...sit at the bar or take a table either way you'll enjoy good food and wines, reasonably priced and... More

Good choice of very fresh hot and cold. Extremely helpful staff who explain the ordering process. For cold just help yourself from the displays and keep the sticks which are totted up at the end for bill. So easy and of course tempting!!

We have been to this bar twice now and have been very impressed. We were given a English menu by Albert and everything was explained on cost and menu choices. We choose hot and cold tapas and we were very pleased with the taste and selection. My favourite was the baked bean dish but all the ones we tried were... More

I tried 8 different dishes and I wasn't disappointed by any of them. I especially liked the baked beans and the chicken strips. Service is a little slow and you have to shout to the waiters to get their attention. Price is fair for most of the items on the menu but the seasonal menu is overpriced.

It is a good basque's restaurant in Eixample district of Barcelona. Excellent "pinchos" in a great variety are distributed along the large bartender"s desk, and you are free to choose everything you want. At the end, the staff count how many wooden sticks are in your plate, and calculate the bill. Each "pincho" costs 1,70 €. Also the have basque... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
