We came here after I found it on trip advisor via restaurants near me. It was our first night in Barcelona and we needed somewhere near by to eat. We were greeted by a woman who said there were no tables unreserved however she quickly said let me check and found us one from between 8:30-10 which was plenty of... More

Small but fantastic fresh seafood . Close to beach. We ordered too much Bec we couldn't choose from huge interesting selection. Had tapas and Paella which was very good. Not sure what to expect when we entered at 1pm and were only customers, but it was good, and soon filled up.

We went for dinner on our last night in Barcelona here and it was the best meal we had our whole trip- the food was tapas style so you could order as much or as little as you wanted, and everything was incredible, in particular the seafood. The service was great, all the staff were very friendly and the atmosphere... More

Very small portions, and they charge you for bread. Not a good sign. Had the monkfish, and mussels as a tapa

Our friend told about Somorrostro before our trip and we decided to try it. The place was fully booked, but they were able to arrange a table for us for one hour (the table was reserved from 8pm and we arrived 7pm). We were very lucky, so I suggest a reservation if you want to dine here. And it's definetely... More

They say, the best restaurants with local and fresh sea food in Barcelona you can find in Barcelonetta district. It´s true, but you have to go away from main harbour street and walk some more steps into Barcelonetta centre. It´s worth every step you make! Somorrosto is a small cozy restaurant with nice people, friendly atmosphere where tourist is not... More

If you're in Barceloneta forget about the restaurants on the main strolling road on the seaside... Just spend few minutes and go inside the Barceloneta neighbourhood and come to Samorrostro! Great food, nicely served in an cozy local. Prices are perhaps slightly above average, but all in all it worth! P.S. Don't miss the Gazpacho shot... Amazing!

Fine chill atmosphere, good wine selection, great food and fantastic tomatoes. Price wise, it's in the 15-25 € per person range. All in all, 100% recommended.

We didn't have reservations and they still accommodated us. I wasn't sure what to expect but my wife really wanted me to have an authentic tapas experience. The food was amazing. Easily the best meal we had while there and we ate at several places including some of the more "ritzy" ones. It was very affordable. The selection was fantastic.... More

Randomly found this place on Yelp when searching for tapas restaurants near our hotel. It's tucked away in a corner a few blocks away from the beach. We returned for a second time during our 4 day stay. Really unique mixes of flavors and super chill ambiance. Don't miss out on the oysters with passion fruit, the mussels, the duck... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
