This has to be one of my top 5 dinning experiences. The menu looked interesting and delicious and we wanted to order everything! We were in the area and arrived around 8:00 pm. They were able to seat the two of use at the bar which was a great place because we were able to observe the chef and cooks... More

Excellent and original tapas following the slow food and km0 concepts. Irreproachable quality of food, you will really enjoy every tiny piece of your meal. The restaurant is a bit noisy and not so confortable (small tables), but as far as you go there to enjoy the food you'll be fine.

I love tapas. I mean.. I love tapas. And I love Barcelona. So things have to be pretty bad for me not to enjoy some tapas and a glass of Ribera del Duero in Barcelona. On the other hand.. Things have to be pretty good for me to feel all unnecessary because it is tapas not fine dining. And this... More

Found this restaurant up a side street not far off the main beach road in the old quarter. It is small with a mix of tables and stools to eat at a counter. The decor is unusual and looked as though several skips (dumpsters) had been raided. All very nice. When we passed it during the afternoon we decided to... More

We had an exceptional mid day meal at this very pleasant small restaurant. Our waitress recommended several dishes that were all very fine including their paella, humus with mushrooms and octopus, and a potato/octopus/ham tapas.

Hands down best tapas we had in Spain... every dish looks like art, food is absolutely fresh and delicious, price is very good for this quality of food - definitely worth a trip!! Would eat here every day next time I return to Barcelona :) Definitely get the box of various cooked fish!

Arrived for dinner at 10:15 and were seated w/5 minutes (Lady Luck has totally been on our side in BCN--we overheard others having to wait for at least 30 for a table!) Had a few tapas--so good--and the seafood paella--SO great--and then got the bill and realized our entire meal was only 60 euro! In the States this meal would... More

Stumbled upon this place when exploring the Barceloneta back streets. Small but lovely, well laid out tables. Really friendly service. Varied menu which is all organic & sourced locally. Beautiful cava for just over 2 euro a glass!

Great place, had a bit of tapas and a paella for 2. Really good food, lovely service. Paella was especially nice. Also the way they present the menu, and the fresh food/ locally sourced ("Slow Food") concept they are part of.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
