We mistakenly thought this looked a good choice after a tiring first day in Barcelona. Expensive steak which wasn't very nice and the waiting staff were pretty off. Didn't bother complaining. Steak and a few chips is what we got, the wine tasted cheap and nasty too.

It's been there forever. A typical german beer restaurant where everything is good: sausages, swine axe, potato salads of all kinds and beers, lots of beers. Great place for a quick lunch of dinner.

My husband, 5yr old daughter and I were sightseeing in Barcelona and needed to take 5 for a sit down, bite to eat and drink. We stumbled across Alt Heidelberg and were primarily looking for tapas. We decided to give their special a go which was a generous lunch and drink with a choice of beer, wine or water. Excellent... More

This cute little gem is perfect for a delicious beer and a German-style hot dog. Their patates graves are delicious. Highly recommend their desserts as well as a special digestif from the northeast region of Spain, near Bilboa, it is highlighter yellow in color...delish! As for the rest, nothing to write home about but I am 50% German and accustomed... More

We called into this Restaurant several times during our holiday, excellent food, impressive beer selection and amazing food. We sat by the bar watching the chef preparing sausages and burgers. We did not expect to be drinking Czech beer in an Austrian bar in Spain, but the atmosphere was friendly and the staff were cheerful and helpful. We ate by... More

Big portions but not authentic or well made - my pork chop was over boiled and my mash potatoes were from powder. Some of the sausages are good but generally it's quite average. It's good for a beer and snack but not for dinner. And not German. The staff are friendly though and it's casual and good value at lunch.

Good menu selection. The waiter prepared a steak tartar for a guest on the next table. excellent job. Have not seen steak tartar on a menu for quite some time. Grilled Salmon with a mixed salad was a excellent choice for my wife. ( not a meat eater) The portions are of a good size. Very friendly and good service.

Only popped in for a drink, but staff were friendly and the choice of drinks was very good.A good place to go if you want to 'chill' for an hour or two.

We had arrived at our hotel just down the street and wanted a quick snack and thought this German restaurant would fit the bill. We ordered two cokes whilst checking out the menu. I chose a toasted tomato, cheese and roasted ham sandwich. I had to take out the cheese as it had a strange texture. My friend had an... More

this restaurant serves typical german fare plus many German beers (Hell, dunkel, weiß usw). The portions are hearty, the service is slick and polite. The dessert selection is poor. A good wine list.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
