Bad service, raw steak and recook.... After one hour i still didn't manage to receive my food and therefore left my table empty and hungry... Wouldn't even recommend to my worst enemy.

Walked in,while looking for somewhere to eat, to a big tent just off the beach quite full at 8:15 on a Monday when many restaurants are closed. Atmosphere reasonable. Seated promptly and given a plate of soggy bread with a flavourless tomato something on it. One bite enough. No wine by the glass but did get a half bottle of... More

Great location close to the sea, very nice inside tables as well as outside place, for sea food lovers, not too much selection for people who do not fancy sea food, for instance chicken paella is overprices and very very bad tasting, but fish meals are great

Had dinner at the Salamanca is September 2015. We did not have reservations, so did not get an outside table. However, the overall atmosphere was pretty good. The servers were attentive, and the food was great. We have a seafood platter for two. There was probably enough for three or four people, depending on your appetite. However, for $70 euros... More

Went to this restaurant after a recommendation from staff at a restaurant we'd visited the night before. You could be forgiven thinking that the restaurant is just another tourist trap and won't be that great! quite large and facing the beach! You would be wrong! Went in the afternoon very busy but got seated quickly. Had some tomato bread with... More

When we arrived for lunch at 2, there was a tray of the fresh catch of the day -- two lobsters, one spiny and one Atlantic, six huge Madagascar-style prawns, some monstrous shrimp, razor clams, regular clams, etc. so we ordered the whole tray for the four of us together with some white asparagus, Godello albarino, and several pitchers of... One of the best meals in Barcelona...the best Paella, definitely! Our server cordially welcomed us. He provided superb service and attentiveness. I understand that it is the employees’ job to make customers feel comfortable and welcome, but our server surpassed our expectations. The food was splendid…fresh seafood, flawless paella and flawless sangria. Ultimately, when I visit Barcelona in the future,... More

I asked the receptionist where we could get the best Paella in Barcelona and I was informed of this place, and I agree this a fantastic place to try the national dish. The ingredients were fresh and had a fantastic flavour. Our waiter was lovely and the place had a calm, friendly atmosphere. We sat in the tented area outside... More

We went here on the recommendation of a taxi driver, hotel reception and another guest at our hotel. They all said the paella was good, and they were all right. Great flavour and everything was cooked well. Our waitress was also very good and helped with choices of wine.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
