The restaurant is elegant but informal at the same time as the staff is very easy-going. Very nice dining room underground. Food is excellent. They serve awesome lamb leg and galician cow (both entrecote and chuleton). We had very good wines, ribera del duero and Rioja. The maitre advised us for the choice. I was surprised by the pork's "manitas"... More

The restaurant is in a great location just off the plaza mayor. Tables outside for drinks and tapas and buzzing tapas bar inside, walk through this to the restaurant which is a beautifully decorated space combining the traditional history of the building and city with real contemporary flair. The food was well presented and good although not outstanding, we shared... More

Recommended by our hotel and they did not steer us wrong. One of the best meals we've had in Spain even after many amazing meals in Galicia and Basque country. It may seem expensive at first but portions are large and you can easily share. We were a party of 3 and shared 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and one desert,... More

I can hardly believe that somebody can rate this restaurant not as excellent . First 3 symptoms . The menu is very short , they speak a very basic English , white tablecloth and napkins ( tough synthetic...). The food is really superb . They serve very good meat , very nicely prepared . We had lamb , pork .... More

Monday night is a problem for dining out in Salamanca as many restaurants are closed. Whilst looking for Casa Vallejo (closed) we happened across "Gonzalo" which looked nice. We opted to eat indoors in the small, vaulted cellar dining room and chose 5 starters to share, including a comparatively reasonably priced "1/2 racion" of Jamon Iberico. Of the 5 dishes,... More

We popped in for dinner and the atmosphere, service and food were excellent! I had red tuna with vegetables, 24 e, and a recommended wine ( 3 e per glas) that was great with the fish. My husband chose shoulder of suckling lamb (24 e) that he said was best ever he has had. The portions were large, and we... More

I have travel extensively through out Spain Last visit from March 14 to the 29th. Never thought visiting such a terrible restaurant. They offered a Rodaballo salvage and a tuna sashimi Both dishes terrible and very expensive Place was not comfortable. Don't visit that place.

Marvelous meal befitting a lovel city as this. Thankfully my concierge at Rector made my reservation even before I arrived knowing this would be a meal to return me to Salamanca again.

We made a reservation for this restaurant since we knew Easter was a pretty big deal in Spain and everywhere you go is crowded with tourists. We were on a trip around Spain and were especially excited to visit Salamanca. We were really hoping to get an amazing experience there. Our hopes were crushed and turned into a nightmare the... We arrived late for lunch on a Tuesday and we felt very welcome ( which is unusual in Spain). My husband ordered roasted piglet and I had lamb chops. Both very tasty but the highlight of our lunch was dessert. I am a chocolate lover and was very happy with my choice; a perfectly baked petit gâteau!
