Not sure why the lower ratings. I ate here twice, had the cecina, morcilla de Leon and mollejas, all of them of good quality, in huge quantities, with excellent bread and cold beer. No complaints at all, was able to find a table and get...a reasonably agile service at a very reasonable price. Would come back and recommend to others.More

Warmth of welcome/Service 9/10 Atmosphere 8/10 Quality/choice of tapas 7/10 Comments. Very friendly staff. Buzzing with a locals/tourist crowd. Quite a large choice of tapas but portions were small. Our ranking of bars (out of nine visited) 4th Not our visit visit to Leon but...this time we were with friends. Lovely city with plenty to do during the day and a vibrant nightlife in the evening. If you are having a long weekend the secret is to eat a menu del dia at lunchtime (1.30ish onwards) and then do a tapas crawl in the evening (8.00 pm onwards). Most bars give free tapas, many letting you choose from a selection available. The quality ranges from perfectly acceptable to really good. We visited eleven bars on our crawl over the two evenings but I can only remember nine. I have marked each bar, out of ten, in three categories: warmth of welcome and service from the staff, the atmosphere and, finally, the quality of the tapas available. If appropriate, I have left a comment pertinent to the bar. Check my other reviews to see all the bars sampled. We did not have a single bad experience in Leon and it is a great place to have fun, either as a couple or with a group of friends. If you don't have fun in Leon then there is probably something wrong with you 🤣 We chose the bars we visited on personal recommendations, from looking at TripAdvisor and, failing that, going into the busiest bars with the most noise. This is a system that usually works well for us as the locals are rarely wrong! Finally, there are dozens and dozens of bars that we didn’t get to visit. We may have missed some gems and some stinkers. Follow your nose, look for the crowds and have a great time.More

El Patio is for mass feeding and portions are very big. It is very busy and great place to go in big groups so you can share the food. Quality of the food is reasonable. Chairs are very uncomfortable.

Reasonably priced good food in a bustling restaurant and tapas bar. We ate in the courtyard and had good free tapas with wine before dinner. The service was friendly but quite slow. The food was good quality but lacked anything special. The bread was excellent....Wine was cheap but good qualityMore

Service was ok, nice place, but the food was absolutely disappointing. I had a toast, which consisted of a huge piece of bread, soaked with jam, and 3 pieces of goat cheese. Big portion, but it wasn't good at all, I left more than half...of It. In the end we paid more than we had paid in much better places in Leon. For us one of the three worst restaurants during our trip through the north of Spain. ( I am writing this comment from another restaurant where we went straight afterwards and where we now are having a REAL and tasty lunch).More

Since being in Spain, this was the most terrible food by far. Looks like a nice place, but its the typical tourist trap.

We visited on at midday with beautiful weather and sat in the patio area. There was a single person attending but that’s not unusual in many restaurants in this area. The service was adequate, the food good and outdoor area ideal in good weather.

This place has an enormous portions to offer ranging from 10,50, 12,50 and 16,50 euros. 16,50 for 1 kg of french fries cut in chips, 6 eggs and a range of meat, fish topping options on top of it or half this portion for 10,50....12,50 euros for a range of other XXL-size dishes. Great service and nice atmosphere.More

Not sure why this place isn't rated higher. The service was excellent and friendly, the food was great (and large portions!) and it had the best house wine we've tried in Leon. The atmosphere was busy and friendly when we went (about 14.30 local time).
