I tend to avoid restaurants where there are pictures of the food on the advertising boards. Around the Cathedral area every other restaurant had pictures of about the same thing; roast chicken, roast pork ribs etc. The roast chicken on then menu here is particularly good value at €8.50 for half a chicken and comes with home made chips.

The place is cozy and nice to have a meal. The service isn't as good as the food unfortunately. I had something they call "Olla podrida" which would stand for something like "the rotten pot". It's not mouth-watering, i know but it is delicious. I would recommend it! Too bad staff aren't friendlier.

Due to its location on the Cathedral plaza, this restaurant is populated with tourists and at best, average service. The restaurant was not very busy, but the waitstaff were not very engaged. We enjoyed our meal, which was well prepared, but tired of trying to find our waitress throughout the evening and finally flagged another down, paid and left without... More

It is Sunday evening and most restaurants are shut and this is close to my hotel. Despite the view outside I sat inside because it is a cold evening. The decor is dated and the service sporadic, slow and unfriendly despite there only being 16 other diners. There are no vegetarian main courses so I ordered the lamb and as... More

Nice view of the cathedral from this restaurant. The food was good. Excellent gazpacho and blood pudding soup the chicken was greasy and the chips soaked in fat.

We went to this restaurant because severaly years ago we ate here and had a good meal. The restaurant has a terrace where you can eat and have a good view of the Cathedral. However it was hot the day we went there and so we chose to eat indoors, where there was air conditioning. The dining room was very... More

I should know by now that most restaurants next to major tourist attractions tend to be very average but the menu looked OK and the prices weren't too bad. Service was excellent with the serving staff dealing with my attempts at Spanish with patience. The food however was no more than average. Oily scrambled eggs (tasty enough but heavy on... More

Came here for dinner last night, were a bit early (8:30pm) so were able to get a table on the patio overlooking the Burgos Cathedral. Ordered a bottle of Verdejo and a tomato salad and Garlic Soup (Castillan style) to start. The tomatoes were really fresh, but the soup was AMAZING! T was our first time trying this local dish... We chose El Rincon de España partly because of its location and partly because they offered suckling pig which we wanted to try. We had intended to be outside for the view, although they seemed to want us in the room. In the event, because the only people outside were a noisy group of tourists, we changed our minds. The... my third visit to lovely Burgos , my third to El rincon but a first for a meal there. The decor takes me back to my early 70s child hood - lots of dark wood ,etc but very very clean. We opted for the Burgos menu at 27 euros each : black pudding, Castilian soup, roast lamb and chips, le... More
