Small place with friendly staff, I ended up ordering five croquettes for lunch. The standard, a manchego cheese, a mushroom.
And honestly I don't remember the other other two. They were reheated in the oven for me as I drank a 200 mL coke Maybe...my hopes were too high, but none of my selection stood out to me, and I had the distinct feeling I had had better croquettes from places that didn't even specialize in such.
In my opinion, good for ordering quickly on your way home to have them put in a container for you to heat up later, but as a sit down experience wholly lacking, likely because the croquettes are prepared hours in advance and are just reheated for patrons.More
Stopped twice but was closed or too packed. Third time got there at the right time. Sat at one of only 2 small outside tables, had a mix of croquettes and venison tapas(!) and it was all delicious! Squid ink croquette was little strong first...bite but I think it was our unsuspecting palates as each bite became more and more wonderful. Really small but friendly and easy place. Well worth a stop if you can squeeze in!More
This is a tiny little bar but it serves some of the best tapas we’ve had. I loved the morcilla de Burgos and hubby thought the pulled pork roll was delicious. We also shared the veg tempura which were really yummy. Don’t miss it if...you are in Toledo.More
Trip advisor said that this opened at 7:30, the girl who was opening showed up shortly after 8pm and was actually ready for patrons at 8:15, so be warned or you will end up waiting like we did. The croquettes were quite good and they...had many different types but would not call it a must eat at by any means.More
Great place. A creative choice of tapas. They also specialise in numerous different types of croquettes.
It's very small with just two high tables outside. In total it has a 20 person limit. We were lucky to grab a seat as someone else left both...times.
There's a large convent out the front. (Convento de las Capuchinas).
The service is good and we actually went for lunch and in the evening on the same day. The tapas were all served on a staggered basis which suited us.
Stand out dishes for us were the Morcilla de burgos (very good black pudding with rice on a thin bread with a slight sweetness) absolutely delicious we had it both visits. The deer medallions with a chutney (Ciero con chutney) were tender and cooked slightly rare. Sadly they had sold out by the evening so we only got to try this once. The flavour of the deer was so good. The pulled pork roll (Bocadillo USA) very tender bbq-esque in flavour with pink pickled onions.
We also had Duck with mushroom,
Egg with foie grais, 3 croquettes chicken, duck and gorgonzola and the Fried cheese with sweet sticky sauce. All very nice but the deer, Morcilla and pork were best.
We spent €23 for lunch, which included 4 dishes, 2 beer and 1 red wine. (We arrived around 3pm, kitchen closes at 4pm) €26 for dinner (we arrived around 9.30pm) which included 3 red wine, 3 dishes, 3 croquettes a large bottle of water.
We would've gone back again the next day but sadly they are closed on Wednesday's.
Thanks for the great food. Great to have a choice of different tapas at affordable prices... highly recommend a visit here I'm still thinking of my 3 favourite dishes now.More
Ok my wife is not allowed to eat fried stuff. The friendly staff proposed something else but it was spicy... We decided to sit, which proved a wrong decision. The beer I was served had no gas!!! It was 330ml and was announced as "grande"!!...We payed and left...More
