La mar mainly serves oysters (several choices) and roe/huevas. We loved it! Staff is very helpful and attentive. Decor is cool and the atmosphere overall is that you want to stay in.

Came here for a seafood meal which was the best we had in a 10 day trip around northern spain. Amazing fresh and delicious seafood and brilliant service. Highly recommended.

Being Santander a quick look on Trip Advisor said I needed to stop in this place. Easy to find location. Stopped in about 1:30. Small compact bar. Don’t exactly remember which oysters I had but do recall the local Cantabria shells and some French. Later...a adjoining diner recommended a small French oyster so I had six of them. They were all good but found the much more briney flavor when compared to our New England oysters. What really hit the spot was the glasses of the Cantabria vino blanco we had.More

Oysters, oysters and wine. This bar does not serve anything else. The people stand on the street at small tables, drink wine, talk gaily. Everyone of course eat oysters. Nice servis. Great place. Really recommend !!

Really thank you!! I only want to say that we have much more things than oysters. But of course, oysters are our speciality. Thank you again and hope to see you soon!!

this place serves oysters and drinks. Nothing else. But what it does, it does brilliantly. Nice alhambra beer, good white wine, and a nice selection of oysters. The waiters are very friendly, and can give you advice if you don't know which oyster to indulge...in.More

This small fancy bar in Santander has a lot of different oysters. We tried the local ones (1,5 EUR). They were small but very tasty. White Wine and service was perfect. We will be back as soon as possible.

Practically stumbled acreoss this place in the old town on an afternoon, wonderful anchoa from Santona, just beautiful and the centre of the world for anchovies. They also did a lovely Cantabrian Albariño and good service.

We were a group of nine, all seafood lovers except one. Our waiter Tomas Was perfect, he suggested the specials, answered our questions. The whole Group loved his suggestions. Tomas also helped us choose the wine. The wine list is extensive. They serve half portions of...many items on The menu. Leave room for desserts, all tempting and home made. Service was excellent. Can't wait to go back....More
