My wife and I dined at El Serbal last week. Early dinning time, 9:30, for local standards but several customers at the place already when we arrived. Courteous greeting by ? (Never introduced himself) and very few and always sparse answers to our questions about the menu or wine list. Food excellent and well presented. Service mediocre at best with... More

Don't be let down by the outside: the restaurant is an hidden next to a supermarket and it doesn't look like a michelin-starred restaurant at all. But once inside, everything changes. The gastronomic journey starts with a glass of cava and a house starter, with an extravagant seaweed taste. Then choose from a variety of freshly baked bread, brought to... More

Last night, along with my adolescent son, we experienced a memorable tasting dinner of Chef Roberto Terradillos cuisine at El Serbal. From the appetizers like the pâté of lechazo, the salmorejo fruit soup, to the amazing fresh fishes like: bonito, cod and trout, to his versions of callos a la madrileña and the exquisite presa Ibérica, you may want to... Had the menu gastronomique with wine pairing. Beautiful food, with some lovely fish dishes. Wines were excellent and well matched. Service was very good and genuine. We managed to get over most of the language barriers and work out what we were eating with each course, but it just added to the fun. As someone travelling from London the restaurant... More

Don't let the non-descript exterior fool you. This is a top notch restaurant worthy of its one star Michelin rating in every respect. Wonderful food, exquisitely prepared, and really good service. Two and a half hours later we left fully satisfied with everything.

The food, decor and service are all excellent! Although I didn't quite see the point of some flavor combinations, the quality of cooking and the ingredients is outstanding. Some of the dishes were challenging and some simple a great revelation. The egg with spinach appetizer, despite seemingly simple ingredients, was complex and comforting at the same time. The value is... More

We visited El Serbal mid week so it was quieter. This meant we had waiters time and attention. Went for the 8 coarse tasting menu with wine twinning. Stunning stunning food and a different wine with every coarse all expertly explained by the waiter. Such a pleasure to eat the sort of food you normally would only see on TV.... More

My wife and I love fine dining and have to say this eating experience was worth the extra expense. The food was outstanding, the wine was fantastic and the service backed it up. We will return on my next visit to Santander. One of the best Michellin restaurants we have visited to date.

During a trek across northern Spain with my son, this was the last restaurant we visited. It was also the most impressive. Not just for the quality of the food and service (certainly consistent with its Michelin one star rating), but for the very good value. With a 50 euro fixed menu - including wine pairing, tax and tip, it's... More

Simply brilliant. Ingenious creativity of food, wine and service. I won't spoil the surprise of the way they serve bread, but you will not be expecting it! We went for the menu with which the wine has been selected by the chef to compliment the wine. Very glad we did, as we got to try four very different, delightful wines.... More
