We chose El Serbal as it was highly recommended at the Michelin guide! Amazing flavours, great atmosphere and cocktails made in front of your table with a great view of the sea!!!

Excellent degustion menu with one of the most interesting wine pairings I’ve had in a while. Staff could not have been better and it was fabulously good value for money We will be back complete with a bottle of English Perry [in joke!]

An unexpected treat, I was hosting customers in Santander overnight and asked our hotel for a recommendation. This restaurant certainly didn’t disappoint. We opted for the Gastronomic tasting menu with wine pairing. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty, served by an excellent team....Seated around a lovely round table according sea views for all 4 of us, we had a very relaxed evening which also proved really good value for the quality of the dining.More

The place is nice, situated right on the beach front, beautiful view. We had the tasting menu, it matched our expectations. The taste and looks of the dishes are great, interesting combinations and also traditional spanish dishes reinvented. The overall price is quite good for...a one Michelin star, considering also the portions and the variety of the tasting menu. The staff is very nice, they explain every step, each ingredient and flavour. I recommend this experience!More

Was very disappointed with the overall meal although we did have the smaller tasting menu. (Perhaps they put all their effort into the longer one which seemed more theatrical.) It started off well with inventive small plates but we started to get worried when they...gave a huge amount of bread!! The final courses were disappointing and ordinary. (There was far too much rice with the calamari, the hake was OK, but the "pulled pork" dish was poor) In my humble opinion not worth the price or a star, sorry.More

Excellent food for a very reasonable price, in a location that's stunning on a sunny day (on the beach). Elaborate plates with lots of flavor and yes, you will be full even with the smaller degustation menu. Great choice of bread.

Fabulous meal with great service. We enjoyed the tasting menu and every course was delicious, explained beautifully. The meat course was pork coated with charcoal - it was beautifully pink, and my husband and I have never had pork so delicious and unusually presented.

A quiet Wednesday night in early October with a total of just 8 diners. Waiting on staff we’re attentive and professional, food imaginative and well presented. If we had a complaint it would be that a couple of the dishes were not quite to our...tastes even though we were ordering from the a la carte menu.More

We chose El Serbal for our last meal before sailing back to the UK after a 2 month tour of France and Spain and weren’t disappointed. We had a blip on the online booking but luckily when I called in at lunchtime to check they...had our booking (they didn’t)there was space available that evening. On arrival we were invited to chose a table and offered a complimentary glass of cava. We chose the tasting menu at €82 per head which was about 10 courses. We had a number of waiters/waitresses during the evening and all of them did their best to speak English and explain the dishes. Every dish was amazing (I would love to know how they make the charcoal pork black yet so juicy!). The setting is amazing, looking out over the sea and watching the moon rise over the beach. It certainly was a memorable last meal and one I hope to be able to repeat maybe one day.More

This is our second visit to el Serbal this year. The food continues to be excellent, with a strong focus on local produce (expect fish and seafood). However the service was rather patchy, and very different from our experience the first time we visited. Upon...arrival, it took a tad too long to be greeted by the maitre. A lukewarm welcome I must say. Considering the number of guests and the number of waiters, it all felt a bit chaotic. Our waitress did not introduce herself nor did she welcome us to the place. You would expect the dishes to be explained to you as they're being served but this only happened half way through the menu, when we magically had a different waiter serving us. Any requests for more drinks, water, etc to the waitress were received by a very informal 'yep' and a tint of discontent. In summary, food continues to be excellent but staff could do with some training.More

We opted for the tasting menu with local wine flight. We were not disappointed. A glass of cava met us on arrival with a choice of delicious breads. The staff were very attentive. We were lucky to get a table looking out over the sea...- fantastic. Every course was a delight. The staff explained each course (even though our Spanish is limited their English is much better!). Every course was fabulous. The individual starters and sea bass dishes probably our favourites but all were excellent. The only criticism would be that the two dessert dishes were quite similar (ice cream based) but we're both beautiful nonetheless. Not a cheap meal but excellent value for money .More

Had dinner here at the end of March 2022 and opted for "small" tasting menu. Staff were very helpful and provided a lot of information on each course. Everything was delicious and very well cooked. We also had the wine pairing and enjoyed this too...and felt it was a good match with the food.More
