We went here for a drink on a Saturday night. The bar was full of locals and had a great atmosphere. Only downside was that we were unable to sit down and the smell of fried food was quite strong. Otherwise the barman was attentive and there was lots of people watching opportunities!

I visited a few of the best reviewed tapas & wine places in Santander from both TripAdvisor and LonelyPlanet sources. Casa Lita was nice but Pinchos were a little stale, Canadio was nice too but service was a little flat & uninterested. La Vinoteca had great wine & fine pincho's & food but it was a little formal. La Catedra... More

Still the same fabulous dining experience as ten years ago. I took three couples here for dinner as the atmosphere is great and the tapas different to the usual ones on offer in other restaurants! Hard boiled eggs in bechamel sauce, sweet red peppers with black pudding, ham and cheese rolled in breadcrumbs and deep fried, delicious!! The seating is... More

Loved this place packed with locals sharing huge plates of mainly meaty delights. However, you must try the tuna empanadas. It is dark and atmospheric with the old wine vats lining the walls and a great old chap playing the piano. This place had a fantastic atmosphere that you would never suspect from the outside. You could easily walk straight... More

Ideal for those staying in an apt and looking for a place to buy top quality food or those looking for a snack to take to the beach.

A great place if you like fried food. If not, better try something else! Here good is very heavy and abut monotone... Place is nice though!

This restaurant was recommended both by a guide book and friend from Santander and I honestly don't know why. Perhaps we should have been worried when we went there for dinner but the waiter asked if we wanted a table 'para picar' i.e. for snacks rather than a meal. Honestly I think this is a place to go to to... More

Food was really tasty and typical of Spain! The restaurant is an old apotheke, very unique and there was someone playing the piano. The only disadvantage was that we visited on a Friday evening and it was really crowded and noisy.

I go for dinner every year while on holidays in Santander for the last 20 years. Very good food and relaxing environment, specially when there is someone playing the piano. Too busy some times.

We decided we had to come since it is supposedly the oldest bodega in Santander...felt a great ambiance when we got in but that was it...Not really much of a wine selection to start with..,the food was nothing to brag about...my advice: go to another place or, better yet, wait until you get to Bilbao's old town (just an hour...
